Rich in charm and history, Pettolecchia distinquishes itself from the other masserias in the area with its unusual architecture, which has enabled it to perform its two main purposes perfectly both as a masseria, agricultural farm, and as a fortress designed to defend the area from attack by sea by ottoman turks,bandits and marauders.
