Cocooned in the mountainous aqua sanctuary of Risnjak National Park, Wake The Lake festival celebrates the pristine ecosystem and Illyrian mysticism of Lokvarsko jezero.
Centralised at the foot of a 70-meter grassed dam nestled deep within Croatia's Gorski Kotar district - 30 km east of Rijeka and a short train ride from Zagreb - 50 contemporary house and techno acts take to three stages across four days of music, spiritualism, adventure and the great outdoors.
Spearheaded by Croatian and Slovenian talents Peter Dundov and Umek, international headliners include Gerd Janson, Dr. Rubenstein, Bradley Zero and Steve Bug. With the likes of Berlin’s Cinthie, Kompakt artist La Fleur and Imogen Recordings co-founder Antonio Zuza adding to a select roster of Adriatic talent in Ana Antonova, Dejan Milićević and Marko Milosavljević, expect the best in house, disco, drum and bass and old school rave to trance, techno and tech house.
Deeply inspired by the earthly blues and greens of Risnjak National Park and its ambient surroundings, our main stage sits on the sandyshores of an exposed alcove hidden by a magical centuries-old forest. It’s here on the beach that we will host 20 of the world’s best DJs spinning peak time sounds to be heard
on our semi-submersible platinum dancefloor.
For the aquarian spirits out there, a small flotilla departs twice a day for a privy boat party in the middle of the lake while the earth signers among us can cool down in the natural amphitheatre of our Forest stage, finely tuned to an eclectic mix of funky, retroactive beats and new school tricks. With house and disco holding it down on our Rising Sun stage, Wake The Lake’s official after hours location, it’s here that you can take up the beginnings of a new day while enjoying some of the more crepuscular moments Lokvarsko jezero has to offer.
Peppering our festival with workshops like Shamanic Path to Self-Consciousness and Surviving in the Wilderness - to seminars addressing reforestation and environmental protection - we’ve also provided guided tours to offsite locations like Golubinjak forest park - where local knowledge can lead you to discover cave Lokvarsko - or for the more adventurous there’s horseback trails and rafting to be found in Brod na Kupi.
On site we recommend getting around on some of the E-bikes provided or simply find a secluded spot for the turquoise waters of our beloved lake to lap at your feet. We have chillout zones dotted around the festival, local cuisine from master chefs Anton Rudan & Mojmir Žuvela, to health & wellbeing retreats for massages and meditation - to galleries, arts & crafts, face painting and marketplaces.
With spectacular scenery, cute cottages and picturesque safe havens to be explored across 380,000m² of festival land, Wake The Lake will play resort for 4000 sun seekers, with boutique camping available in our nature reserve. CAMPING TICKET:
The natural camp under the 80-meter dam leaves you breathless!
Each ticket is valid for one person regardless of the tent.
Everyone who stays for more days and intends to sleep at the festival must buy a camp ticket.
The camp has forest showers, chemical toilets, hammock area, shade and sunny side, sale of food and drinks to keep you from getting thirsty and hungry.
The ticket is valid for 7 days.
