As clubs reopen, allowing for community to meet and live in the flesh again, GEGEN, Berlin's renowned queer fetish party, is landing in London and joining forces with SUBVERSA to guide you to a parallel world where hedonism and music merge within the walls of the historic ELECTROWERKZ club.
Since the idea of community has been used against us by bigger powers like religions, societies and markets to exercise their violence while saving face, we don't want to design a party to sell you a safe space and protection so you can be ‘queer’ for one night. Rather we want to create this space of freedom to recognise and challenge the personal conceptions you hold and uphold regarding your fears, pleasures and power mechanisms. This is why we created Gegen, by performing the otherness of your social insanity, by working against yourself, by thinking and being out of b/order and by using sensory and acoustic experiences in order to destroy every logical mind construction, so you can free yourself with, for and through others.
