  • Booty Luv (UK) http://www.myspace.com/bootyluvuk When glamorous label Hed Kandi approached Cherise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd, of Hip–Pop act Big Brovaz fame to record a promotional track for the label, few would have envisaged that months later the girls would be sitting at number two in the UK singles chart with the Booty Luv revolution in full swing. The R & B singers exploded onto the dance scene in late 2006 with a superb cover of Tweet’s “Boogie 2nite.” After topping various dance charts, the single shot up to number two in the national chart, where it spent an incredible 17 weeks in the top 75. Following this huge success, their contract with Hed Kandi was extended and 2007 saw the arrival of their second single, “Shine.” The Luther Vandross cover was another top ten hit for the girls, receiving huge support from national radio stations and staying in the top 40 for 7 weeks. Their debut album “Boogie 2nite” accompanied third single “Don’t Mess With My Man” which reached number 11. “Some Kinda Rush” became Booty Luv’s fourth consecutive top 20 hit when it reached number 19 in the charts in January 2008. As Cherise and Nadia enjoy more and more success, and with plans for a new album to come, the sky is the limit for Booty Luv. Colin Airey (UK) http://www.myspace.com/plasticdemon Colin Airey has been a DJ for 14 years, starting his career in various clubs throughout Liverpool with residencies at Garlands, Cream and Society. His introduction to Hed Kandi was in 2002 when his singles “Back from Outer Space” and “Ghetto Funk” were signed to Hed Kandi compilations. Forging himself an on-going relationship with the label, he was given the chance to play on various tours for Ministry of Sound which progressed to the Hed Kandi event schedule where he became a tour resident. He has since worked across four continents playing in some of the world’s greatest clubs including Ministry of Sound in Singapore and El Divino in Ibiza. In a career spanning over 15 years, Colin has made the transition from local bars and clubs in the North West to playing in some of the biggest clubs around the world. Starting off in Liverpool, he began to create a new sound of funky and vocal house which attracted promoters from the cities leading club, Garlands. It was there that he served his apprenticeship, building up a very respectable name for himself as a DJ. From there, he became resident at some of the top nights in the North West of England, such as Club 051, Sunrise, The World (Warrington), Club Zinc (Rhyl) and in 1998 was asked to play on the Miss Moneypenny's tour. In 2002 he became a resident DJ for Cream and was asked to go on tour with them in Greece and Cyprus where he was a weekly resident at Cream Ayia Napa, Falaraki and also Zante. In September 2004 he left Garlands after nearly 9 years and became resident at one of Liverpool’s most exciting clubs, Society. It was whist playing at Society; he was given the chance to work with some of the worlds most respected producers, including Jose Nunez and Stonebridge. After 2 fantastic years the time was right to move on and he was lucky enough to join Ministry of Sound, where he played on various tours across the UK before being given the chance to play for Hed Kandi at the end of 2006, where he remains one of their main tour residents. Since joining Hed Kandi, Colin has played all over the world, working in some of the industries most prestigious venues. In countries including Brazil, Mexico, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, USA and Russia, as well as playing all over Europe. This summer he played twice in one the world’s best clubs, Space in Ibiza. This is without doubt the highlight of his career so far. In the studio: Colin’s first successful track, Jackin, was signed to Play Recordings in 2002. Jackin was played by many DJs including Sasha, Danny Tanaglia, Steve Lawler, Xpress 2 and Tom Stephan and received glowing reviews by Lottie who played it on her Radio 1 show and charted it at number 1 in her personal chart for February 2002. She also cited him as a new face to look out for live on Radio 1. He was then signed to Low Pressings with tracks such as, Jungle Runner and Better Way. The track was a hit with all top DJs and got to number 7 in the cool cuts countdown. He also teamed up with House of 909’s front man Nigel Casey to form E.F.F, making tracks called Back in the Jungle, Infidel and Downtown, which were featured on mix compilations for NRK and had great support from Xpress 2 and Peace Division. In 2003, Colin teamed up with Rob Jay of 3 Beat Records and formed MIRABEAU and set out on their first debut single entitled Brass Disc which was snapped up by Seamus Haji for Big Love Records and supported by many leading DJ's and was featured twice on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. Their next single, Back from Outer Space was again played by Tong, which led to Italy’s hottest label Oxyd, jumping at the chance to sign it. It became number 1 in the Buzz chart and 3 in the hype chart. It also became one of the Top 5 Ibiza anthems of 2004. It had an amazing 6 plays on Radio 1 and the award of Pete Tong’s essential new tune. All Around The World signed the track, and instantly licensed it for compilations including Hed Kandi and Clubland 6. Hed Kandi also licensed another track called Ghetto Funk for their Disco Heaven compilation. Colin was also working on an offshoot project named Hydroponix, with a track titled Don’t Stop, Go. It was signed to Sander Kleinenberg’s label, Little Mountain Records. Its debut play came on Sasha & Digweed’s Essential mix broadcast live from Renaissance on Radio 1. It then made its second play on the Essential mix from Creamfields by the legendary Deep Dish. Following this success came two tracks signed to Forensic, Houston Calling and Inner Love, which had plays from Sasha and Steve Lawler to name but a few. Most recently, Colin has been working in the studio with Mike Discala on various projects including a track called Space and Time, which has had remixes from Deadmau and Jerry Repero. The track was also played by Tiesto, Pete Tong and Sasha amongst others.
