Darker Than Wax and eto ano are coming together this MLK Day weekend at Good Room. The record labels are bringing together five djs for a Sunday night boogie with dreamcastmoe, Marco Weibel, Ayesha, sspurgee and rbchmbrs.
DC singer, songwriter, producer and DJ dreamcastmoe will be headlining the night. Traversing across R&B, funk, soul, jazz and hip-hop, he slickly moves between styles and tones. This ability to twist and turn in different directions - yet remain stylistically coherent - can be traced to his home city of DC and the makeup of the neighborhoods. He will be joined by Darker Than Wax's Marco Weibel.
Local DJs Ayesha, sspurgee and rbchmbrs are taking over the Bad Room for the night. DJ and producer Ayesha channels the sounds of her diaspora into tactile club experiences.
Her sonic universe is the collision of all her influences spanning the percussive worlds of techno, breaks, and bass. sspurgee is a Brooklyn local who you might recognize from his time at The Lot Radio or in the band Barrie. Following the band he started eto ano as an outlet for his electronic music productions, as well as a vehicle to highlight peers from his community. And rounding out the night is Queens DJ rbchmbrs.
