Creating a unique blend of electronic indie pop, Leisure Theory is the project of Irish producer, Jake Smith.
Releasing debut EP, This Is My Password in early 2019, Leisure Theory exploded onto the scene, selling out two Manchester headline shows and an Irish homecoming tour.
Faced with the halt of live shows throughout 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, work quickly began on 2nd EP, Deliverance.
Expanding the production values of the first EP, Deliverance received extensive support from Amazing Radio, BBC Northern Ireland and became a fresh favourite of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson.

Following the release of 2020’s second EP, Smith enlisted the help of artist and producer, kid blue to combat a period of writers block.
As a first foray into the world of collaboration, Leisure Theory released the new single, Do Without (featuring Kid Blue) sparking a new enthusiasm which continued throughout 2021.
With this new energy, Smith began writing from a perspective of current events both personal and global.
The result - Leisure Theory’s third extended play, “Momentary Ordinary”
Taking influence from previous work and with the help of various producers, Leisure Theory produce their strongest material to date
Momentary Ordinary was released on Most Joyous Records August 2021.
Returning to play their first live show in 2 years, catch Leisure Theory at Manchester’s AATMA on the 28th January 2022.
