This event will be the exclusive debut presentation of the interdisciplinary DIVINE LUST project by Anthony de Bono. Natürlich, this event will be taking place in the magical city of Berlin: the chosen home to the artist & the breeding ground of this intimate insight into the creative community that has enabled Anthony to grow and develop in his personal artistic journey.
DIVINE LUST explores Anthony de Bono's interdisciplinary artistic practice; the ongoing result from this endeavor includes the creation of a short film and a coinciding fashion collection, then the experiential events which will take place to present this project will incorporate Anthony's practice of conceptualizing physical installation pieces, along with his curatorial work and creative direction practices in bringing together collaborators from a collection of diverse folks from his underground queer Berlin community to execute the entirety of each of these one-off event experiences for this project.
In his own words here, Anthony notes specifically about his intentions with the short film: “Creating a visual experience of intimacy and collaboration within Queer culture — with the stark reminder that existence is political.”
The short film component of this project allows for a theatrical realization of de Bono's work, utilizing a sea of references from homages to classical sculpture to the working methodology of industrial noise groups. This short film is an unapologetically confrontational response to the current political climate of aggression towards Queer culture and existence.
As this short film is only one component of the overall project, this event will also act as the debut showcase & pop-up shop of the artist's fashion collection. Music will be provided throughout the evening by Electrosexual (aka Romain Frequency) who composed and produced the original score for the short film. There will also be a performance of brand new choreography by local Berliner contemporary dancer Kevin Bo. And there will also be a slew of spontaneous guests and performative moments during this special evening, as well as conceptual installations throughout the space
