Jstar has been lauded for his back catalogue of over 100 dancefloor gold, official and unofficial, reggae and hip-hop remixes for the likes of Blackstreet, Gang Starr, Busta Rhymes, Major Lazer, Madness, DJ Vadim, Tack>Head, Mark Ronson, The Black Seeds and others.

Growing up in West London under a haze of reggae, rave, funk and hiphop, Jstar soon started DJing. His substantial work as producer has been widely acclaimed by the likes of Mixmag, David Rodigan, Norman Jay, John Peel, Grandmaster Flash and The Clash’s DJ, Don Letts.
Since releasing the double album ‘Licensed Plates, and studio albums ‘Stand To Order’ and ‘Dub To Order’, Jstar is pushing boundaries by releasing work by Chinese reggae MC’s, and recently completed an 8 date tour of China.

Jstar often features as tour DJ for vocalist Soom T and has also performed solo many times at festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Womad (UK), Fusion (DE), Symbiosis (USA), Island Vibe (AUS), The Big Chill, Big Love, Kelburn Garden Party (SC) and toured all of Europe, parts of India, New Zealand (10 times), Russia, Kenya, Mexico, Australia, Vietnam, Cambodia
Past DJ residencies in London included Rootikal at East Village with David Rodigan and Earl Gateshead, the Big Chill Bar (Jstar & Friends), Jet Set (Subterranea), Market Place (Jamdown), The Big Chill House (Hot Wuk with Heatwave) plus sets at seminal London clubs such as The End, Plastic People, Heavenly Social and 333. Jstar has played with diverse acts such as Nicky Blackmarket, MC Honey Brown, Diplo, Dead Prez, Shapeshifter, Dreadzone, Netsky, Busy P, Andy Smith, Prince Fatty, A-Skillz, Maceo (DeLaSoul), Sly & Robbie, Cypress Hill, Morcheeba, Shy FX
