In true sporadic fashion, Crucial Youth Sound System returns
to the fold to deliver another top notch line up of Disc Jockeys for your musical enjoyment on this years extra party weekend in June (courtesy of HRH. Cheers Hun).
In more true Crucial Youth Sound System fashion we have taken into account the rising price of living, the fuel crisis, the incoming NI hikes, the Universal Credit boost cuts and all the other general Tory fuckery and have pulled together a grand party with a couple of Worldie headliners for free gratis.
Just bring yourselves along and have a bop and a boogie on us.
After a few (very interrupted due to the ongoing pandemic saga) parties with past headline DJ’s Andy Smith, Mark Rae and the lockdown exit plan party with Mike Dunn we return with an all day and into the night event with two of the UK’s finest.
Alongside our array of Sheffield selectors we have two very special guests perfect for a Bank Holiday session for your musical enlightenment.

Where do you start?
The man behind or involved in Fila Brazillia, The Solid Doctor, Heights of Abraham (a project with locally associated heroes Sim Lister & Jake Harries) the ‘Till Everyman Is Free’ EP under the ‘Chieftain’ moniker alongside Adam Regan which year on year since its release you will still hear pounding out of festival Sound-Systems around the globe.
Steve is a seasoned electronic music producer and DJ, notably connected to the downtempo scene but he knows his way around many more genres, with some ‘classic’ albums and DJ mixes under his belt as a solo artist and as one half of Fila Brazilia.
With close Sheffield connections (working @ fon studios and with Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire) also.
We’re excited about Steve returning to the Steel City to soundtrack, hopefully, a sunny Sheffield Bank Holiday Weekend.
Joining Steve on the day is someone who needs no introduction around these parts.
Charles Webster, AKA... Love From San Francisco, Webster Wraight Ensemble, Furry Phreaks, Good Together, DJ Profile, Presence... the list goes on.
Another local to this part of the country, hailing from Matlock (also my neck of the woods) where his first forays in music were in Sheffield whilst still at School!
His musical journey progressed to Nottingham via Derby where he was a member of the electronic band ‘Mile High Club’ performing at the City’s iconic Garage Club.
A Don in deep house circles, both in production, DJing and his enviable remix catalogue, his discography is something to marvel.
Charles has productions under many pseudonyms and over 400 high standard remixes for the likes of Groove Armada, Layo & Bushwacka, Miguel Migs, UBQ Project, Oscar G, Dennis Ferrer, DJ Koze, Ben Watt and many many more
Charles also has some mighty fine albums and compilations under his belt for the likes of Defected, Peacefrog and NRK to name a few (check his ‘Born on the 24th of July album originally released on Peacefrog, that’s just had a long overdue repress) showcasing his selecting capabilities, and his most recent, universally acclaimed ‘Decision Time’ album on Dimensions Records with a new remix package just released with Mark E, Dazzle Drums, Luciano and Jazuelle on duties.
As always the Crucial Youth resident hit squad will be in support providing all sorts of musical treats.
