LL023 LDN Launch Party with Rommek, Lakker, The Doubtful Guest, Torn Relics & Internal Object

  • What would could embody life in 2022 more than burn out? Fuel, money, our minds, they all burn in the searing heat of this intense year. But many things that feel intense can also be cleansing, be that a flame, personal challenges or thought provoking music. This story is told by the next release on the Loose Lips label, out Friday 27th May, that we are delighted to now be able to share with the world. The EP is by our good friend, LL resident and truly innovative producer, Rommek. ‘Turbulent Minds In Turbulent Times EP’ is a raw, cathartic gem for the times of raw-dogged reality - a number of Rommek's mind-bending productions showcasing different sides to his journey from 2014-2021, accompanied by a fiery fine-tuned remix by boundary-pushing duo, Lakker. On Sun 29th May, we'll be coming together in London to celebrate the release with 7 hours of fierce tunes at one of the city's finest intimate spots to hear melting experimental electronic music. Lakker will be heading over from Dublin for a special live performance, to be joined by the Rommek himself. The two musicians on the release will be accompanied by a jazz-infused live set from opera singer and IDM gem, The Doubtful Guest...as well DJ sets from up & coming moody selector, Internal Object, and devious duo Torn Relics (Rommek & Aimee Mullen) Yeehaw! ---- Introducing our London line-up for the LL023 launch at Glove That Fits this Sunday evening, 17:00-00:00 - Rommek The main man behind the ‘Turbulent Minds In Turbulent Minds’ EP. An incredible musician with a growing catalogue of cutting edge releases. - Lakker If you haven’t come across their work before, definitely get stuck in - an Irish electronic music duo, first formed in 2003, consisting of Dara Smith and Ian McDonnell, who are both from Dublin, Ireland. Whether it be releasing a standout album on R&S, gliding between worlds of techno/UK bass/IDM, or putting together an incredible conceptual work delving into the theme of ‘the Dutch and water’…they’ve always pricked our ears and melted our minds. - The Doubtful Guest Jazz meets acid meets IDM. - Internal Object Internal Object runs a monthly punk and metal radio show on Threads Radio with chatty discussions on neuroscience, philosophy and culture. - Torn Relics Torn Relics are an experimental electronic duo, that combine tribalistic soundscapes with cyber-punk-power-electronics to form an arcane sound palette. Romek Boyer creates the percussive backbone, with a heavy blend of modular electronics and drumming, while Aimee Mullen fuses violin with eerie vocals into this potent mixture. Their intense live performances, juxtapose chaos with harmony. In 2019 the pair released their debut EP; The Poisoned Chalice on Sacred Court, inc. SNTS remix. Abolish the Dogma, the duo 8 track album, was released in 2020 on Leyla records, highlighting the couples diversity and creative output through the dynamic and explorative productions.
