  • The Endless Hum is a new collaborative effort organised by five local artists musicians and friends based in the world heritage site of Saltaire, Bradford. Coming together over a mutual craving for tasteful live music post-lockdown, the aim is to bring something back to the Shipley community in the spirit of the now defunct but much loved Golden Cabinet nights. Following the success of The Endless Hum #1 which sold out at the start of this month, the group are now pleased to announce details on The Endless Hum #2 The Endless Hum #2 is set to take place on 2nd July at the Kirkgate Centre, Shipley featuring: AJA (NOTTINGHAM): Following a mesmerising performance at one of many infamous Golden Cabinet nights back in 2018, we’re super excited to invite Aja Ireland back to Shipley to showcase a new and semi-improvised set. Aja’s reputation for unhinged and relentless live shows has seen her appear at the likes of Fat Out, Brave Exhibitions and Supersonic festivals to name a few and during lockdown she also featured on Fact Magazines ‘Artist DIY’ video series talking in-depth about her new live setup. She was recently invited as a panelist for Audio Visual Arts festival earlier this year and to top it off, is the founder of Nottingham’ Queer Noise Club. Slug, her second album released last year on Opal Tapes was lauded as “uncompromising electronic experimentalism” [Louder Than War] and showcases a unique talent for manipulating, contorting and mangling samples into dizzying, glitched-out arrangements. Dismantling noise, electronica, rave and industrial before reassembling them beyond recognition. FFO: Container, Aphex Twin, Giant Swan & SOPHIE https://helloaja.bandcamp.com/music OBJECTIONS (LEEDS): Objections is a new northern trio featuring Neil Turpin and Joe Mask of Bilge Pump fame alongside Claire Adams of EH favourites Nape Neck. They’ve only a few UK shows under their belts so far but have already gained plenty of praise. All members have been part of Leeds burgeoning underground scene for many years and Turpin’s signature style of jazz infused percussion has gained him legendary status. Recordings are in the mix, but unfortunately no releases exist yet, so we can only give you this live video as a taster. FFO: Angular art-rock and post-punk https://youtu.be/6MwRo-tBK1c WORRIEDABOUTSATAN (BRADFORD) After a recent line-up change, a solo UK tour including a sold out show at Triangle, and his ninth studio album Bloodsport released earlier this year. Gavin Miller’ signature ambient, minimalistic electronica has grown darker over the years and wouldn’t seem out of place on the soundtrack to a number of b-movie sci-fi classics. Glacially paced 808 beats ride through waves of grainy retro synth crescendo’s and atmospheric guitar loops awash with an ominous uncertainty. His career as an experimentalist musician stretches well beyond a decade and previous releases have garnered high praise from the likes of Pitchfork and Resident Advisor. Frankly, we can’t wait to hear Bloodsport through Kirkgates huge PA system. FFO: Abul Mogard, JK Flesh, Hans Zimmer and Pye Corner Audio. https://worriedaboutsatan.bandcamp.com COLD COMFORT (MANCHESTER) The post-punk solo project of Ben Forrester who spent his time in lockdown honing in an incredible debut EP titled ‘Weak & Dazed’ out now on Die Das Der. Cold Comfort is one man, a mic, a clapped out drum machine, reverb drenched guitars and a collection of catchy as fuck, alt-rock hard-hitters. FFO: Ex-Cult, Goggs, Jay Reatard & Metz https://thisiscoldcomfort.bandcamp.com/music Tickets limited to just 100 are on sale now: https://endlesshum.bigcartel.com/product/02-07-22-eh-volume-2 Doors will open at 7pm sharp and acts will perform between 7:30-10:30pm allowing plenty of time to catch the last train home.
