From scrappy beginnings in the boozy Wreck Room bar, to our nomadic years of delirious warehouse marathons, monthly noise shows in the decrepit Pecos basement, Sunday video art day parties in the LES, Acid Basel, toxic Newtown Creek boat parties, the time we threw a rager in that insane luxury townhouse on Ave A, on and on and on...
We never really fit in anywhere so we had to make a home for ourselves where we could, and we’re super lucky our friends and fellow devotees of off-kilter mutant synth sounds have been with us over the years in weathering the vagaries of nightlife. These days our home is the beloved NYC club institution Good Room, and as always, we're eager to share this milestone with them.
Yes, ten whole years of late night antics, and what better way to celebrate than with a headliner whose vision, determination, and commitment to boosting NYC artists has inspired us since the very beginning, the big LIES boss himself RON MORELLI. He’s got a new album on the horizon - check back here and across the metaverse for details forthcoming - and it was 2018 when he last blessed us with a prime time beatdown in the main room so we are long overdue for this one.
Performing live alongside him is one of NYC's most compelling creators of seductively rhythmic industrial music, CIENFUEGOS. Spanning releases on BANK, L.I.E.S., Unkown Precept and Primitive Languages he's honed a singular sonic trademark - seething, low and pulsating, laced with entranced lyrical chants. We can't wait to experience it for the first time on Good Room's immersive D&B system.
Presiding over the opening ritual in the main room is our resident sorceress of the dark arts of acid, L.SANGRE. As any diehard will tell you, she'll make the dancers cry, soar, jak, and groove with her unique blend of rhythmic body music. Early arrival is a must to experience the full range of her occult powers.
A force of nature when crafting searing synth melodies and pummeling electronic breakbeats, HEIDI SABERTOOTH will be performing live in the Bad Room. This is her first solo live set since before the pandemic, and with a pair of new EPs out on Lobster Theremin and New York Trax, she has a lot of sizzling new material to clobber us with.
Last but not least on DJ duties in the Bad Room are R GAMBLE and SCALLYWAG. As those who have seen them open or close (or both!) many LSE parties over the years know well, their fearless B2B sessions are born of a long friendship and artistic exchange, traversing woozy, slow-mo synth wave to high-octane busted electro and anything else truly demented they dig up along the way.
