Saturday 29th October sees three top dance brands come together for a night of cheap thrills and loose morals over two floors (both equipped with Funktion One systems) at the newly refurbished Marquis in Stoke Newington.
The ground floor will be hosted by local record label and party makers: Makin' Moves residents Matt L-S and Jamesey, who are very excited to present special guest DJ KarlaInTheMix from Paris for her first gig in London. The rising star hailing from Helsinki via France, has been bringing her exclusive fusion of deep house and afro sounds and getting the attention from those in the know on the club/festival scene this past summer.
In the dungeon you’ll find more eclectic vibes from The Death in Vegas maestro, Richard Fearless! His sets are marked by not one genre, but a signature sound. Fearless began as resident DJ at the Job Club in London’s Soho during the 1990s, where he’d play alongside Claude Young, Derrick May, Dave Angel and Andrew Weatherall. After a few years he was picked as a resident for the legendary Heavenly Social. He has remixed Yoko Ono, Conny Plank, the Horrors, Daniel Avery, Ike Yard, Big Youth and Tikiman. While Fearless’ DJ sets and his Death in Vegas output have typically fallen into different genres, over the last few years he has begun to knit the two more closely together.
Joining him in the basement, the French Electronic Sensation making her UK debut, Saka Saharu. She has made a name for herself on the French electro scene over the last 3 years with super energetic sets influenced by the UK rave scene. Breaks, Footwork, Bass Leftfield, Jungle, Drum & Bass.
Shapes Festival resident Frank is Franck and Global Warming Records’ head honcho, Malcolm will be rounding up this tasty line-up.
