INLAND KNIGHTS
[Drop Music // Smokescreen Soundsystem]
DJs, producers and label owners, Andy Riley & Laurence Ritchie (AKA Inland Knights) are house music royalty. The pair first met in ‘93, cutting their teeth DJing for the legendary Smokescreen Soundsystem; the renegade sound system from which they drew their early inspiration. With origins in Sheffield in the early '90s, Smokescreen flew in the face of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, putting on legendary parties in warehouses, fields and quarries.
In ’98 with the release of ‘Inland Knights - Vol 1’, Laurence and Andy launched Drop Music which has gone on to become one of the most highly regarded house labels of all time, with Inland Knights themselves cemented as one of the most respected and prolific production outfits in the world. They're a name that resonates with those who know in the house sphere, touring the globe and releasing an extensive, flawless back catalogue of timeless classics for decades upon decades.
Absolutely undisputed living legends, returning to Sheffield to bring the deepest housey goodness to the Sidney & Matilda courtyard. We've never been so excited.
JENTZEN [You&Me]
You&Me resident Jentzen joins us on the back of an impressive stint on bills alongside the likes of Josh Baker, Laidlaw, Raresh and Tristan Da Cunha. He has recently played at venues such as fabric [London] and Progress Centre [Manchester], plus with an appearance at Hide & Seek Festival, he looks set for an absolutely meteoric rise at the forefront of the progressive house scene. Bringing stacks of vinyl with him wherever he plays, The Big Jentz is young but is an accomplished master of his craft who is going to really go places, gaining plaudits and accolades nationally.
Catch this masterclass in the Sidney & Matilda courtyard this July. Having seen what a Jentzen set is like in the flesh, we promise you you're in for something very special.
BUNTY
Queen of the Sheffield scene herself, disco house aficionado Bunty is the new moniker of Steel City stalwart alex.aubyn. Quickly announcing herself and staking her unbound presence as an absolute Sheff staple, Bunty made her debut playing the main stage of FØRGE alongside Gerd Janson and DJ Boring.
A resident for The Leadmill, and with an impressive list of accolades to her name, Bunty knows how to command a room with utmost precision and mastery and promises to bring bags of fun when she graces the flock dancefloor for the first time this July.
GARRY WHITE [Slinky]
It felt rude to throw a Summer party and not invite Gaz back. Our Gaz has been fully ingratiated as a member of the Flock family after we were proud to be the first promotion to bring him back up north in November 2021 following a few decades shelling it down south, in Europe, Japan and beyond.
He may have played the likes of Space Ibiza, Ministry London, and headlined Homelands Festival to 40,000 blissed out revellers, but he remarked that he'd 'not felt energy like that since the 90s', at his first flock party, and so returns once again for the pure unadulterated joy he delivers to our grateful dancefloor.
Gaz played with Inland Knights down south in 2008, so we're very excited to reunite these legends of the scene once again.
DJ-SJ [CERTi Records // Wireless Free Party Soundsystem]
DJ-SJ is an underground house specialist representing Derby’s Wireless Free Party Soundsystem (est. 2001) and Nottingham’s multi-genre collective “CERTi Records.
Born and raised in and around the free party scene of the early 2000s, SJ delivers that unique, deep, underground sound, influenced by years and years of attending parties, some of which before he could even walk.
Featuring at events for Smokescreen Soundsystem & Wireless, he has immersed himself in the Nottingham music scene crowned by Inland Knights. Now, a dear friend of flock, we're delighted and very excited to pair SJ and IK together again, masters and apprentice, but this time for the Steel City faithful.
GROSS RODRIGUEZ [flock]
We're very excited to present once more for you the great entertainer himself, Señor Gross Rodriguez for more festivities at Sidney & Matilda.
Expect infectious rhythms crafted alongside the chunkiest house bangers, all tinged with a spicy Latin flavour. Fun things happen when Gross Rodriguez takes to the stage for the flock faithful and we're excited to see El Biriguri do it all over again.
JORD GUEST [flock]
Our very own special guest, flock resident Jord Guest is renowned for high energy sets and kicking a party well and truly into full swing.
Armed with an endless bag of delicious records, Guesty promises to get you moving with the sweetest combination of big house beats and minimal groovers.
LEDGER [flock]
Our longest standing resident who kicked off the flock party at our first ever event almost 2 years to the day he once again plays to his people, Ledger never misses a flock party like he never misses a beat.
Ledger's masterful concoction of minimal beats, deep house grooves and electro intimations are primed to get the flock dancefloor moving once again. Prepare for a very special journey from one of our very own.
STEELY [flock]
Making his first appearance at a full flock show, new resident Steely joins the fray after supporting Crazy P at our FØRGE takeover late last year and a smattering of shows across South East Asia earlier this year.
Big soulful house rhythms and joyous pianos alongside chunky heaters, let euphoria ensue.
