Tapes, Lukid, Onya Dev, Susanna Raiend

  • Realising we're all running out of time due to real-life obligations post-corona, like-minded heads have decided to bring like-minded people for a like-minded night at Ormside Projects. Having met through mutuals and playing sets at Sõru Sound earlier this year, the quad lineup of Tapes, Lukid, Onya Dev and Susanna Raiend will surely make this a good start to 2023 - a year we all have high hopes for. No name, no identity, no excess fat. We will be selling scarves both online and during the gig, though - find them at onlineconversations(at)bandcamp(dot)com Tapes Ex-London resident Jackson Bailey has been making computer-tinged riddims and remixes for over a decade. After building a core following under revered labels like Jahtari, Honest Jon's and EM, he has been playing live both under various setups and as a disk jockey. Meeting with Luke Blair in 2008 have expanded both parties' horizons, as they have been releasing and touring as Rezzett since then. Bailey's more recent collaborators include Nikolaienko (Muscut), Mikhel Kleis (Ratkiller), and Steve Vanoni. Expect roots, reggae, and dub with both digi and non-digi twists. Lukid With 3 albums on Werkdiscs and releases with Warp Records, Mute, and his own label Glum, Lukid aka Luke Blair has been a mainstay of the London underground electronic scene for over 15 years. In recent years, Blair’s attentions have been focused on his collaborative project with Jackson ‘Tapes’ Bailey under 'Rezzett', as well as his output under his jungle pseudonym Refreshers, while continuing to host his 9-year-strong show on NTS Radio. Onya Dev Áine has been active in Lisbon's DIY & experimental scene for quite some time, and she has cemented her presence at Rádio Quântica. She settled with Strange Pleasures after several show iterations, melding experimental with not-so-experimental with occasional guests. She recently supported TAX FREE RECORDS (Max Graef) at New River Studios, and you can check out her most recent NTS appearance at our shared links somewhere on this page. Susanna Raiend Estonia-born and UK-based, Susanna curates "Shit Day Shampoo" on IDA Radio. Playing alongside Samo DJ, Sotofett, and Jordan GCZ (Juju & Jordash), she has honed her skills to select from all sorts of genres. Catch her at Spiritland and various party series in Tallinn as a resident.
