After an absence of 4 years, Cubik, Shift & Aces re-welcome a techno legend to Malta’s underground scene - Luke Slater - a man who pioneered British techno but whose influence has been much farther reaching. He has shaped techno internationally from behind a few monikers including his infamous Planetary Assault Systems, always staying current but still with his own style from releases on Novamute and Peacefrog to now labels like Berghain's Ostgut Ton, Blueprint as well as his own Mote Evolver.
Anyone who has seen him play before will know this DJ set is un-miss able.
Warming up on the night for Luke is one of the current top Japanese live acts. Shin Nishimura kick-started his career in Shanghai, back in the days when there was absolutely no dance music scene to speak of. Shin runs his own parties and label called PLUS, through these introducing various essential artists, and succeeding on building up the club scene in Shanghai as well as becoming renowned world wide as of late.
His live set which includes the innovative audio cubes set up is undoubtedly something no one should under-estimate.
Also, heading down from the UK for this special occasion will be Cubik and Shift favourite Luke Handsfree from Plex London and Handsette Recordings to support the already full on Techno feast on the 22nd of May.
