  • It’s been near 18 years since the birth of JUICE Drum and Bass in 2005! Join us for this very special 18th Anniversary celebration at Holocene, Friday March 24th, 2023! Through thick and thin, JUICE has endured here as the longest running DnB night in Oregon. We’re SO proud of being an anchor in the Pacific Northwest’s electronic music scene, and one of the few DnB events in the states continuing for this length of time. JUICE was my first born, then a hobby and project—and now along with BassRoutes Agency—is a full time career. Heart and soul goes into every single graphic, merch design, & every detail of event production for IRL events and livestreams. So we’re incredibly excited to welcome this lineup of EPIC proportions: the mighty Artificial Intelligence (London, UK); Spearhead Recs legend BCee (on his first US tour ever); along with the amazingly talented MC Fava (Germany), who will be playing a special live DJ and vocal set. With top level regional support from West Coast’s finest Reid Speed (CA); local stateside/UK boss MC Questionmark; and JUICE resident Praderz launching the night—no part of this evening should be missed! Expect to hear world-class drum and bass from the moment you walk through the door, until close. It’s JUICE’s mission to continue to showcase the best that deep soulful DnB offers for in person and feature livestream sessions on select last Fridays of the month. 2023 will be a hybrid of 6-7 of these events (dates posted at end of the invite). Looking for more JUICE? Find our weekly “InBetween Sessions” on Twitch from 7-11pm PST Tues/Thurs/Sun with the JUICE crew, keeping the music fresh, and growing these streams as a staple for listeners worldwide. With an ever-expanding number of DJ dates across the world, Artificial Intelligence assure their position as one of the leading lights in Drum & Bass. It was back in 2005 with "Desperado," Warner and Herweijer first hit international acclaim; their mesmeric tune was hailed as Radio 1’s esteemed accolade: Number 1 Drum & Bass Tune of The Year and remains one of the greatest DnB tracks of all-time. In that same year their single "Uprising" was voted by the public as the biggest DnB track of the year (BBC Radio 1). With a consistent discography of legendary tunes since; such as “Uprising”, “Bloodlines”, “Days Of Rage” and “Pass The Buck (feat. DRS)” their portfolio spans the very finest and most respected labels in the scene: Shogun, Exit, Dispatch, Commercial Suicide, 31 Records, Full Cycle, Soul:R, Goodlooking, CIA, Innerground and now Goldie's legendary Metalheadz. IG @artificialintelligencednb FB @Artificialintelligenceuk SC @artificialintelligence twitter: @glennai ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ BCee Spearhead Records / London, UK < FIRST EVER NORTH AMERICAN TOUR > ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ Authenticity and soul are coded deep into everything BCee puts out into the world. Any beat he lays down, any song he writes, any artist he champions, any line-up he curates—nothing has the BCee stamp of approval unless he has full belief in it himself. It’s been this way for over 20 years, across eight albums, countless singles, EPs, remixes, and even more international bookings. As a producer, songwriter, DJ, label owner, event promoter, broadcaster—and any other role he’s stepped up to through his passion for drum and bass—Steve BCee Jefroy is driven by a pure appreciation for D&B culture and driven by how he can serve and boost its community. The results speak for themselves. As the founder of Spearhead Records he’s nurtured and presented a myriad of new talents to the world who’ve gone onto become some of the biggest names in this game: Hybrid Minds, Netsky, LSB, Alix Perez, Redeyes, S.P.Y, Pola & Bryson and many more artists have enjoyed debuts or early releases on the label. BCee’s music has the same high-level impact. Sitting somewhere between the soulful stars and the weight of the dance floor, his uplifting signature can range from late night breakbeat chaos to delicate compositions that smoulder with layers of feeling. Rooted in sample culture, focused on the future, and galvanised by musicianship; BCee beats balance a vibrancy, realism and an emotional pull that’s so strong, his releases are just as likely to be used for weddings and funerals as they are to be rewound in the club. A serial collaborator with an ear for that special element that makes a track timeless, over the years he’s worked with many respected peers. From regular partners in rhyme such as Villem (as The Vanguard Project), and Charlotte Haining (who he wrote the critically acclaimed album ‘Life As We Know It’ with in 2020), to the decorated likes of Robert Owens, Hybrid Minds, S.P.Y, Riya, Bladerunner, Rocky Nti and so many more—for BCee the creative process is an extension of his community spirit as he continues to put into the scene what he wants to see in the world and what he believes in: genuine authenticity and a soulful realness. His release “This Time Next Year—20 Years of BCee” (2021) highlights many of these long-term collaborations with brand new remixes. Always at the forefront of new D&B, the music keeps coming throughout 2022, including “Before You/The Great Scorer” with Emba/Charlotte Haining (DnBArena); “Worship” with Jeavon (Shogun); “Picture Disc” with T.R.A.C. (Solvent); “Is It Real” with Charlotte Haining (Spearhead); and “Before You” (also with Charlotte Haining) on UKF’s latest release. Ever expanding Spearhead Records and honing his craft, BCee is set to tour North America in 2023, continuing to bring his fresh outlook to drum and bass listeners across the world.  IG: @spearheadrecs @spearheadrecs FB: @SpearheadRecords @bceespearhead North American Bookings: BassRoutes, LLC / chemynne at bassroutes dot com EU Bookings: Clinic Talent / chrism at clinictalent dot com ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ MC FAVA (playing a special live DJ & Vocal Set) V Recordings / Spearhead / Sun and Bass / Liquicity / Beatalistics / Germany ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ MC Fava already started his career back in 2001 when he was responsible for the Jungle Club events in his hometown Freiburg. He is a chameleon on the Mic – capable of hosting all styles of Drum & Bass but certainly feels most comfortable if more melodic sounds leave him space to fully develop his vocal range that varies from deep rhymes over singing phrases to crowd hyping chants. Throughout the years, MC Fava started to tour Europe, his musical talent allowed for him to perform in various countries, and through this he achieved performances on each continent. MC Fava is thought to be the first non UK MC to have been on the microphone at the world famous Fabric Club in London. He remains the only German Drum & Bass MC who regularly performs in United Kingdom, the motherland of this music genre. Fava slowly drew the attention of many promoters and also booking agencies – one of them: Clinic Talent, the artist agency of Hospital Records, one of the most famous Drum & Bass record labels worldwide. In 2015 Fava exclusively joined Clinic Talent who then were responsible to organize his numerous shows each year. He has been showcasing his passion and love for music on performances throughout the whole of Europe, touring Australia and New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, South Africa, India, Colombia and the United States. Fava hosted stages of the biggest festivals in the scene like Let it Roll in Czech Republic, Global Gathering in South Korea, Outlook Festival in Croatia, Balaton Sound in Hungary, Mysteryland and Liqucitiy in the Netherlands, the Street Parade in Switzerland, Pohoda Festival in Slovakia, Kendal Calling in the UK, Sonne Mond und Sterne Festival in Germany or Sun and Bass on Sardinia. Fava´s extraordinarily sensible feeling for rhythm and melody made him one of the most demanded MCs in the scene. Although he is a non-native speaker, he annually has been nominated for an international music award since 2014, being among the Top 10 Drum & Bass MCs worldwide in the Drum & Bass Arena Awards, London. In 2021 the Drum & Bass awards Germany got installed and Fava instantly won the ´Best MC´ category in 2021 & 2022. Fava is not only a much appreciated host for his live events, he rapidly became one of the go-to artists for quality vocal delivery as well. His voice enriches approximately 100 songs that got released on some the most respected labels in the scene like Hospital Records, Med School, V Recordings, Spearhead Records, Commercial Suicide and Fokuz Recordings. In 2017, Hospital Records released the live recording of the London Elektricity Big Band show at the Pohoda Festival, Slovakia´s biggest music festival. MC Fava is featured on the recording hosting a 22 piece live band. In February 2019 he released his debut EP on the famous British label Spearhead Records. 2022 will see the release of his first solo EP on the legendary ´V Recordings´ UK and an EP on his own label ´Beatalistics´. His long awaited debut album LIFETRACKS will drop early 2023 on Sun and Bass Recordings – the excitement is rising! ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ REID SPEED Play Me Records / Play Me Too / Los Angeles, CA ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ DJ, producer, label boss, paradigm shifter. With over 2 decades of experience and a lifetime of persistence, Reid Speed is a premier purveyor of the art of DJing and a respected veteran of the North American Drum & Bass and underground dance music scenes. She came up in the New York City underground selling records at the USA’s first all-jungle/drum & bass shop Breakbeat Science, where she was one of the first American DJs to branch out into multi-genre-ism, incorporating 2-step and speed garage into her mixes, and later breakbeats, house, dubstep, trap, and other heavy bass music genres. She was the first female American Drum & Bass DJ to break through on a national and international level as both a DJ and producer, and has served as an inspiration to generations of female talent since. Her labels, Play Me Records and Play Me Too, are stalwarts of the American Drum & Bass Scene and helped kick off the early explosion of the North American dubstep /heavy bass scene, having discovered or launched the careers of some of bass music’s top hitmakers like Dillon Francis, Bro Safari, Dodge & Fuski (Disciple), Eliminate, and many more. They’ve released over 400 artists in their decade of existence, and continue to usher in wave after wave of successful new talent with a focus on drum & bass, halftime, dubstep, and leftfield heavy bass music. Reid’s graced the decks at countless events around the world like Electric Daisy Carnival, Sun & Bass, Shambhala; has done guest mixes for BBC Radio 1, Triple J, Ram Live, Beatport, and more, released music on Prog:ram, Viper, Play Me, and more, and has rocked raves, clubs, and venues from Limelight to The End. Her music has been licensed by brands like Nike, Puma, and Lenovo and she’s curated mixes for fashion brands Skingraft and Unbeing. She’s done 5 years of a drum & bass podcast (Speed of Sound), a multi-genre radio show on Dash (Full Speed), and recently launched her newest mix series, No Speed Limit. She’s even DJ’d on TV (the Jamie Kennedy Experiment). Reid Speed’s storied career has been based in constant, steady growth, and breaking barriers for women in the industry. And whether live, in the studio, or in her role as a label founder, she consistently proves that she’s a force in the industry and one of the best and most versatile DJ’s in the game. @djreidspeed: 81k Facebook @reidspeed : 57k Soundcloud @reidspeed: 15k Twitter @reidspeed: 19k Instagram Twitch.tv slash reidspeedtv Reid Speed: 1.5 million+ streams on Spotify ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ MC Questionmark JUICE Host / Portland-LA-UK ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ Hailing originally from London, MC Questionmark is one of the most recognized voices to be found across the landscape of the North American drum and bass scene.
Born and raised in Southeast London, Questionmark, (aka Devon Andrew Morgan), moved to Los Angeles, California in 1987; encouraged by his parents to attend college stateside. Once settled in LA, Questionmark completed a degree in business administration at the LA Trade Tech College and Cal State University LA. Growing up immersed in the acid house and techno scene that was blossoming in the UK in the early 90s, his time was split between the two countries. Influenced heavily by his Jamaican roots, he was drawn to deep reggae sounds like the Coxson Sound System (which Soul II Soul emerged from); and international rare grooves, soul and jazz. Attending his first Sunday Roast at its original location in Linford Studios, Questiomark was exposed to jungle through emerging heavy hitters like Fabio, Grooverider, Jumping Jack Frost, and DJ Ron. After hearing MC Moose, he was immediately drawn to drum and bass and the medium of emceeing. Slowly finding his affinity for DnB, Questionmark connected to the early LA jungle scene through artists like R.A.W., who were playing the type of sound that he was craving. But there was no emcee. Hoping to bring a taste of London back to the U.S., he offered his services and never looked back. He became resident emcee at the first West Coast DnB weekly night “Science” (started by enthusiast/publisher of URB Magazine Raymond Roker), and hosted another “Atmospheric” night at the Viper Room. Over the years he had the opportunity to emcee many great events with pivotal artists in the genre like Krust, Dynamite MC, Doc Scott, Bryan Gee, Jumping Jack Frost, J Magick and LTJ Bukem. He grew his name and style over the next two decades, playing cities across the states like Honolulu, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Detroit, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Vancouver, BC., San Juan Puerto Rico, and many more.  Honing his craft and feeling a great response from the crowds, Questionmark has gone on to emcee (both locally and internationally) for huge influencers of the industry like Roni Size/Reprazent, Andy C, Ed Rush, Fierce, Nico, Trace, Bailey, Ink, John B, Bad Company, A Guy Called Gerald, DJ Rap, Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee, Dom and Roland, Doc Scott, Simon "Bassline" Smith at the Planet V parties for V Recordings. Staying relevant to the stateside scene, Questionmark has tracked down some of the best shows, emceeing for domestic talent such as DJ Craze, Dieselboy, Dara, DB, AK1200, UFO!, Sage, Hive, Phantom 45, Fury, Danny the Wildchild…the list goes on. His passion for the music and soul behind DnB has led this journey. Says Questionmark, “I want to take this music to the masses. Drum and bass is one of the first genres that came from the streets of London, intertwined with roots from Caribbean sounds mixed with the England vibe. I have always wanted to represent these underground sounds….I want people all over to know that even the ghetto has an artistic impact worldwide." Based now in Portland, Oregon, and working on a variety of creative pursuits and music projects, you can catch Questionmark all over the states, as a resident emcee of JUICE Drum and Bass, or pond-hopping to the UK at select events. Connect with MC Questionmark here: Twitter: @mcquestionmark IG: @mcquestionmark ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ PRADERZ Deep Space Recs / JUICE / LA-PDX-UK ++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++ Hailing from West London, UK, Prad Indrakumar has always held drum & bass close to his heart. Once introduced to jungle-dnb in 1994 when his mate played him a DJ Hype Slammin' Vinyl mixtape, there was no turning back. That first listen sparked an instant love for the genre. The raw energy, tempo and feel good vibe was unlike any other music he'd heard. Hours and hours went by each week feeding this new-found hunger for DnB via more mixtapes shared at school, and with late nights recording pirate stations. In retrospect, this was seen as 'doing his homework—learning the sounds jungle & dnb, saturating himself into the scene and its artists. As the years went by, Prad became fully immersed in the full spectrum of dnb from the hypnotising soundscapes of Bukem, Source Direct, Photek and Goldie's Timeless Album to Bristol bass influenced V Recordings / Philly Blunt & Dope Dragon sound. Despite not owning turntables at the time, Prad started spending his pocket money on vinyls knowing the day would come when he will play them on his own setup. Graduating from a bedroom-DJ, to hosting house parties and modest events, Prad thrives off of the thrill of playing to a crowd. Performing at Glastonbury Festival has been a career highlight, along with playing out at established nights at Thekla and Basement 45 in Bristol, UK and around London. 25 years later, Prad's love for dnb has not wavered. Not a day goes by without DnB, whether playing for modest parties or alongside heavy hitters at JUICE DnB like ASides, LTJ Bukem and more. Part of the Deep Space Records UK crew, he represents the retrospective sound of DnB for this label and night, when over the pond. As a resident of JUICE DnB crew in Portland, Prad is continuing to hone his skills with soulful selections and tight mixes.
