Vinculum Festival 2023

  • On July 14th, 15th and 16th, the village of Mondim de Basto, in the district of Vila Real, will host the Vinculum Festival 2023, dedicated to emerging dance music languages. Vinculum presents itself as a meeting point, a space for dialogue between electronic music and the natural and cultural heritage of Mondim de Basto. A gathering where everyone is invited to engage with the musical proposals and the surrounding environment, to enjoy an experience that deeply connects us to the location as a whole, through music and dance. Once again, Vinculum challenged a group of artists to sound the tone for this reunion at the Parque das Merendas do Monte da Senhora da Graça, in the village of Mondim, and for the sounds of the most stimulating electronics of our times to be heard between the Alvão Natural Park and the Tâmega River. The 3-day festival will cover the rhythms of electro and breaks, passing through the deep, minimal and hypnotic techno, micro and deep-house, ambient and experimental music, and everything else in between. Joining the previous announcement, we have the italian Alarico, combining forces with the local heroes Vinculum got us used to: Gusta-vo, Sepypes, Morsil e Silêncio. Ferro and James Grouper - mentors of the project - close the line-up for this year’s edition. The german Zenker Brothers (Dario & Marco Zenker) and Amotik, join the spanish Orbe, in a lineup that presents for the first time a series of international names that define trends around the world. A Thousand Details live, Amulador, Backbone, Cravo, Franscisca Urbano, Maria Callapez, Shcuro and Ruuar, are the remaining recognized activists from the national electronic scene. The 2nd phase tickets are available for 50€ and 55€ (with camping included) and can be purchased here. The next wave of tickets will be available in the end of march and it will cost 70€ and 75€. The camping reception begins at 6 PM on July 13th, and the musical programming will start at 5 PM on Friday, July 14th, and will continue until 10 PM on Sunday, July 16th. Toilets, showers and refreshment areas are part of the park’s amenities, which will also feature a restaurant area with local cuisine and vegetarian options. The Vinculum Festival will travel the country with a series of promotional events. In the north, the Gare (Porto) will host the dutch Marrøn on march 24th, and the german Tehotu on May 26th. On may 6th, the Ministerium Club (Lisbon) will welcome us, with the german Inland as the headliner. All information can be found on the festival’s website.
