(Please get in contact at [email protected]) KATIE PEARSON ≈ A blank insignia, Katie has avoided this through a unique, yet authentic musical journey. She has long been at the forefront of Australia’s queer dance scene, most notably as cohost of “gay ass disco”. Her musical microscope understands the entire genetic makeup of a dance party. It is a science of feeling and Katie Pearson is the expert in her field. A peak-time purveyor at festivals like Dark Mofo & Pitch Music & Arts. A mood-setting maestro for names like Honey Dijon & Chez Damier. A trusted resident of fabled institution Revolver Upstairs. A devout digger, sharing her eclectic taste on airwaves like The Lot Radio & Skylab Radio. BEN FESTER ≈ Ben Fester is a Eora DJ who has been running the notorious Heavenly parties for over six years now and humbly maintaining the Sydney underground. The range of names he’s warmed for speaks for itself; Omar S, Sex Tags crew, Marcellus Pittman, Ben UFO, Kyle Hall, Madteo, Move D and many many more. He’s a staple of the AUS festival scene, being welcomed at festivals like Inner Varnika, Subsonic, Strawberry Fields and was recently given the honour of closing the last Hopkins Creek festival. As well as holding a residency on Sydney’s community radio – FBi – for three years and filling the Boiler Room lens a couple of times, don’t expect the standard, embrace the whacky. Join us in the buoyant Bunuru warmth of Walyalup’s grandiose greenhouse as we weave together a day-to-eve entanglement of enriched rhythm and like-minded movement. ﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ We at Co-Op acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which this event will be taking place; the Whadjuk people of Noongar nation and we pay our respects to their elders; past and present. We acknowledge the Whadjuk people’s connection to land, sea and community and respect their strong culture and contributions to the life of the Walyalup region. We acknowledge that this event is taking place on stolen land and that sovereignty has never been ceded. We support the decolonisation of this country; encouraging participation in First Nation-run Pay-the-Rent programs. This always was and always will be, Aboriginal land. SAFETY ≈ The values of community, harmony, and gracious understanding underpin us. We strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all, and we have a zero tolerance policy for any negative attitudes, discrimination, harassment, or harmful behaviour of any kind. The culture of this music was born in the LGBTIAQ+, Black, and POC communities, and without their ongoing contribution and rich influence, we as appreciators and beneficiaries would be nothing. We support the safety of all members of the community and will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, ageism, or any other form of abuse. If you have any concerns, feedback, or if someone is bothering you, please contact our soft-security staff, doorstaff, DJs, or security at any time. We are here to help you, and your voice will be heard. Please keep an eye out for one another as you enter the space to ensure that everyone has a good time on their own terms and that everyone's identities are respected and celebrated. We are a community here, and your actions can have an impact.
