Our host AKUMU welcomes you back for the second installment of Red Museum. This time we’ve got two new faces - Soda Plains and Mieli.3 - alongside residents AKUMU and MM.
Originally hailing from NE France, Mieli.3 runs brand new Glasgow party Turbines. She will be welcoming you in with her experimental collection of ambient melodies and deconstructed club soundscapes.
Next we have AKUMU and MM going head to head in a versus battle to rival their last - at MM's own club night Underworld II back in 2018. They'll be sparring at the decks with the usual mix of twisted melodies, syncopated drums and mesmerising breaks.
Finally, our guest of honour, Soda Plains. Over the last decade he has knocked out a steady supply of club music on PAN, Her Records, H34RTBROKEN, Black Ocean and more, always recognisable for its distinctive pop-baroque melodic sensibilities. As a producer he’s worked with the likes of Organ Tapes, the late great Chynna, Ian Isiah and Hong Kong rapper Fotan Laiki. His most recent release, Living With Elvis, is one of his best yet - featuring a speaker busting combo of bass-driven euphoric melodies and blasted breaks. Naturally, it’s been getting plenty of club play from the likes of Modeselektor and VTSS. We’ve been Soda Plains fans for a long time and can’t wait to have him play for us.
