After the response from last summers Raves of Longton event, 4 of the original artists who performed at Shelleys during its heyday, came together and delivered a very special event indeed and have agreed to return to Longton once again to rekindle that very special vibe that was re-ignited last year.
Altern8 who had massive worldwide success with their chart topping rave anthems and arguably one of the scenes biggest artists has become synonomous with Shelleys Laserdome via their numerous live performances, use of Shelleys in their music videos, not to mention their historic Shelleys car park performance which is still talked about to this day.
Pete Bromley, Stoke's number 1 house music DJ who has been resident DJ at just about every main Stoke club movement over the last 30 years, was the first DJ back in 1988 to actually play a house set in Shelleys. Longton born & bred, Pete's affinity with the Laserdome is special indeed.
For many, Daz Willott was THE Stoke on Trent Rave scene. Daz was the resident DJ for Amnesia House on the Saturdays and Entropy on the Fridays and he is without doubt the one DJ to play at Shelleys & Entropy more than any other. A local legend who's name goes hand in hand with both Shelleys & Entropy.
Daz's sidekick at all his gigs was his cohort, MC Lethal. Daz's hype man would be the guy introducing Daz at all the start of his sets, through to brining everyone together at the end of the night which was one of their unique trademarks. Lee would go on to become the first 'Rave MC' to produce his own records. However, make no mistake, Longton was their home turf and nothing would come close to that magical period when Longton was the centre of the UK rave scene.
Warm up duties for this event are provided by one of the most popular local old skool DJ's, BITD's Mikey Worth. Mikey has a wealth of experience and knows how to dig deep and is without doubt one of the best warm up DJ's on the scene...
Raves of Longton 2 will be a day party that will run from 2pm to 10pm where afterwards, there'll be an afterparty at The Underground in Hanley until the early hours...
