  • Mizz Softee took a walk on the wild side and got the juice to get loose to feature three stages comprised of techno, trance, and downtempo delights. The Softee stage will reveal a story of techno history bringing to the stage Mike Dearborn, a techno legend from Chicago who’s been keepin’ it real since ‘85; Dustin Zahn, a Wisconsin boy, whose primary influences were Plastikman, Surgeon, and Jeff Mills; Juana, an artist who has taken DC by storm with her storied sound, and Henry Chow who paved the way for the Houston underground in the early ‘00s with his party ‘Crossroads.’ FIST is one of NY’s most forward thinking queer parties, offering a home where full throttle techno, grinding hardcore and unhinged mutations thrive. As guest curators for the second sound stage, they’re featuring artists with an elevated take on trance and esoteric formations. Vel makes her debut to the New York stage, Handmade returns with a vengeance, while trance-forward duo Spyware and hard groove connoisseur Miss Parker will hold it down until sunrise. And… the Chillzone will be a Softee family affair featuring Brooklyn darlings. Buckle up, enjoy the ride, and get weird, because it will be a foggy night ‘n morning for the history books. He has been DJ’ing since 1985 and has been producing/remixing since 1989. He has recorded for legendary Chicago labels Warehouse/Muzique Records and Chicago Trax and he has also recorded for Djax Up Beats and his own label, Majesty Recordings, among others. Mike has done remixes for artists such as Gary Numan, Hardfloor, Joey Beltram, The Advent, Eddie ‘Flashin’ Fowlkes and Robert Armani. He has also played some of the best venues world-wide such as the Rex Club, Ministry of Sound, Tresor, The Limelight and Shelter. After spending several of the last years pursuing interests outside of music, Mike began to focus more on Producing and DJing again. Recently, Mike teamed up with the UK’s Slam to remake one of his first releases “1991” and has done remixes for A.Paul and Francesco Bonora. He performed at high profile events such as Mayday in Dortmund, Awakenings in Amsterdam and Berghain in Berlin. (★‿★) *Dustin Zahn* co-founded Abiotic Recordings with Ian Lehman in 2001 and more recently, Enemy Records in 2004. Abiotic focused on the hard, industrial nature of techno influenced by the likes of Jeff Mills, Surgeon, and Plastikman. Meanwhile, Enemy took an entirely different approach with the idea of making crossover techno influenced by minimal, house, experimental, and progressive. After a successful run of releases on Abiotic featuring artists like Heiko Laux, Tony Rohr, Patrik Skoog, as well Dustin himself, Abiotic lay dormant in 2006. Since then, his Enemy Records imprint is on fire with support from Someone Else, Tim Xavier, Adam Beyer, Tony Rohr, Troy Pierce, Camea, and more. Dustin has also released on many European labels including Mindshake, Syndikaat, Mankind, and Compound. His solo live PA’s and 3-turntable DJ are dynamic and unique. Together with partner Ian Lehman they perform a Live PA under the moniker "The Attack People." A project concentrating on moody, futuristic funk for both the mind and dance floor. When he's not setting dance floors ablaze with his diverse DJ sets or supercharged live pa sessions, he co-promotes some of Minneapolis's biggest techno parties. (★‿★) *Vel* is a France-based Moroccan artist, DJ, producer of electronic music and engineer. When she left Rabat, her hometown, at 18 years old for Lyon, she studied to become an engineer. Yet, one particular night shook her path up: she met techno music for the first time at Le Sucre and it was love at first sight. Celar-paced yet textured techno, powerful yet graceful, Vel’s sound radiates through throbbing drums she summons from her memories, celestial whispers and fragile voices: the divine feminine emanates from all the pulsating vibrations she casts. During sets, Vel knows no limits of genre, she’s always eager to hit hard, defying boundaries and BPMs, a true force of nature. In a small amount of time, Vel’s journey was already marked by the friendship and the guidance of artists such as François X, u.r.trax or In Aeternam Vale. She looks up to them and to other artists where she also finds inspiration: Bjarki, Anetha, Schacke, Objek The last three years, Vel released 3 EP: «Who by fire» on Unusual Records (2020), «He Took One Cliché» on Nasdat (2021), «Era L» on François X’s label XX LAB (2022). Vel is also an active member of Under Rave, u.r.trax’s collective, and Lyon’s techno scene. (★‿★) *Handmade* has a love for vinyl influenced by the late 90s club sound of Berlin, where you could find him dancing the nights away . Behind the decks since 2005 he created a unique dancefloor oriented sound where he builds bridges between House and Techno. Since 2009 you can find him at his monthly residency at Tresor Berlin. As part of Same Bitches Berlin family since day one in 2014 he released his first vinyl with the collective in 2021. ▲ ETIQUETTE ▲ Mizz Softee is a warm, welcoming space for all gender, racial, ethnic, sexual, age and class identities.
