Stereo Ferment label head, Oreku aka Cayden Mowbray, returns with his second EP, “Disko Alwanzatar”. Drawing from influences of Anatolian folk rock, Lebanese psych funk, and the works of Hi-NRG disco legend Patrick Cowley, Oreku conjures a collection of psyched-out, hypnotic and funky dance floor-geared numbers.
Having recently completed his first tour of Colombia and a string of shows in his homeland of Australia, the Toronto-based producer/DJ continues to grow his audience and share bills with international touring acts like Ghetto Kumbé, Uproot Andy, Habibi Funk, Eli Escobar (Razor-N-Tape), Dauwd (Ghostly Intl), and Dana Ruh.
June 2nd marks the release date and launch party for "Disko Alwanzatar", and will feature an opening vinyl set from the Italo disco queen of Toronto Automaticamore. Followed by a back to back set from Oreku and Coy Haste (co-label head of Stereo Ferment) where you can expect to experience a blend of psyched out house, leftfield breaks and tropical disco.
