We’ll be holding our 9th volume of Techno & Friends on the 9th of June and we are so delighted to welcome Toronto-based Emily Nicoll and Montréal-based Santinista.
Emily Nicoll is the founder, curator, and label manager of Aquaregia, a Toronto-based label with a signature sound of dreamy acid techno. Through her Aquaregia imprint, Emily hand selects top-grade acidic gems from both globally recognized artists and fresh talent to showcase her adoration for the sound of the 303. Platforming the likes of acid producers 747, Troma & PERS1, and Tin Man, along with techno and hypnotic masterminds including Téo Dréan, Nthng, Schacke, Primal Code and Elad Magdasi among others, she has built a sonic brand that is instantly recognizable as ‘Aquaregia’.
Santinista is Chilean DJ based in Montréal. Having been involved in the city’s underground scene since a young age, Santi’s approach to music and DJing has been heavily influenced by community building. Currently, he forms part of the Armable collective, and has deep ties with the scenes in Toronto, Halifax, and his hometown Santiago. His sets are characterized by the seamless blend of multiple genres, with a focus on the bass-oriented-danceable-underground.
