William Selman (album release event)
William Selman is a Portland, Oregon-based multi-disciplinary artist whose sound work uses field recordings, synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and digital processing techniques to explore themes such as place and non-places, embodiment, atmosphere, vagueness, and the ambiguity between the natural and the artificial. He co-manages the Critique of Everyday Life label with Chris Miller (Gunnar Haslam) and plays in the improvisational trio Wild Card of Cascadia with Paul Dickow (Strategy) and Marcus Fischer. He has released sound works on Mysteries of the Deep, Hausu Mountain, Digitalis, and Critique of Everyday Life.
Matthew Patterson Curry is a sound designer, producer and DJ who makes eccentric and experimental electronic music. His formative musical years were spent in San Francisco and Berlin before his current residence in New York. His early musical adventures as Safety Scissors led to working in film and multichannel sound art as well.
Wobbly (Seeland / Hausu)
Jon Leidecker (aka Wobbly) is a human in the loop, making music with people and machines that listen. Improvising with recorded sounds, his emphasis on live performance blurs any clear distinction between his solo and collaborative work, which includes touring and recording with Negativland, the Thurston Moore Group, Jennifer Walshe, Zeena Parkins, Zoh Amba, Dieter Moebius & Tim Story, Matmos, People Like Us, SUE-C, John Oswald, Fred Frith, Thomas Dimuzio, Sagan and Huun-Huur-Tu. Labels that have released his music include Hausu Mountain, Illegal Art, Deathbomb Arc, Bureau B. His lectures on the secret histories of electronic music have been presented at Mills, Stanford, Oxford, UC Berkeley / Davis / Santa Cruz, MACBA and Peabody Conservatory. In 2015 he inherited Negativland's long-running Over The Edge radio live mix program, which continues to broadcast KPFA FM in Berkeley.
