After two awesome events at the Red Bar we have decided to take the short journey across the city to the fantastic pub THE VICTORIA. We are looking forward to making this our new home and we will be raising the roof each and every month.
This event will be the first of a bi monthly showcase of what DJ's of the Birmingham techno scene have to offer. We at SICKNOTE know how hard it is to move from djing in your bedroom to playing at clubs and bars in the city. So we thought we'd give everyone a chance to play. Every other month we will have a number of open slots for unknown djs to make their mark.

James Burn
James Burn is co host of Clubbed Up radio as-well as Co founder of Clubbed Up recordings. The Clubbed Up brand is now it's in 10th year and has played hosts to some of the biggest names in electronic music, everyone from Chris Liebing, Robert Hood to the other end of the spectrum with the likes Danny Howells & Timo Maas who have supplied memorable mixes in the past. James joined Clubbed Up in 2008 where himself and Danny Roberts moved the show to podcasts that seen there listening figures go through the roof. James began mixing back in 2004 where he was just mixing for fun for friends at after parties. A couple of years pass and James started taking mixing more seriously, sending out demos which earned him sets at venues like The Emporium, Air, The Medicine Bar and more recently The Rainbow, Public Life & Inigo Bar. While on holiday in Ibiza in 2008 James played at Kanya & The Ibiza Rocks Hotel alongside his Clubbed Up partner in crime Danny Roberts. James' style varies from deep & groovy house right through to no nonsense heads down techno.

Making a name for himself across the Midlands underground house and techno scene, Finn consistently delivers his individual twist to the ever rising popular music scene. As dJ come producer, his productions feature influences from a variety of sources from jazz to to 50's swing, all combined with deep and chunky bleeps, beeps and grooving basslines.

Michael Hooker
Michael’s DJ career began with a move to London at the age of seventeen. A club promoter heard one of his mixes and the rest as they say is history... Michael played at some of the city’s most established venues; The Cross, The Aquarium, The Chunnel Club, Koko, Sunnyside Up and the infamous Club UK.
After a number of years playing alongside some of the very best DJ's around he returned to Jersey to start up his own night - Out Of This World. The night exceeded all expectations with more than 700 people attending every week. Bookings included Eddie Halliwell, Fergie, Westbam, Marco V, Oliver Klein, Lottie, Hybrid and many more. This successful night also led to Michael playing all over the World; his biggest gig to date being over 200,000 people at the World Drum Festival in Seoul, Korea.
Michael has changed both musically and technically. He has a much more versatile sound which fuses all of the energy from house, tech house, techno and progressive house seamlessly mixed together.
Together with studio partner Elcias De Freitas they produce under the name Hooker & De Freitas. With regular top 100 releases, it is no wonder their fusion of sound has grabbed the attention of John Digweed, Mark Knight, Dubfire, Fedde La Grande, Sister Bliss (Faithless), Axwell and many more!
