Discwoman co-founder Umfang was born in the Bronx, grew up in Kansas and has been living in Brooklyn since 2010. She holds a monthly residency Technofeminism at Bossa Nova Civic Club focusing on emerging talent. She enjoys playing with people’s expectations of how a techno set can be defined. Her amorphous polyrhythmic productions have been most recently released on Ninja Tune.
White Material co-founder Young Male is one of NY’s most steadfast producers and DJs. A devotee of first-rate, slamming techno, his releases boom with crisp impunity and shiver with simmering, shadowy mystery. He’s maintained an unbroken level of activity for over a decade and always delivers the goods, both in his famed 909-centered live performances and exceptional DJ sets.
NYC native and Threads Radio resident Blasfemmeous brings hard hitting yet ethereal melodies to New York dance music. The sound of Blasfemmeous' signature party, Surreality, is fast-paced but sparkly and vibrant, moving between techno and trance, with elements of hyperpop and the like. Her crunchy, shimmering, eclectic sound incorporates her appreciation for electronic sounds of the past, present, future, and fourth dimension from which she originates.
