The first party of the Disc Break Radio Station Launch weekend double-header!
A strictly all-vinyl evening so expect some rare heat!
What better venue to hold the station launch than the prestigious and intimate Eastern Bloc Records, a staple of the Manchester electronic music scene since 1985.
We welcome James Greenwood - label head at Semi-Skimmed Edits and a quarter of Manchester DJ collective Supernature Disco. James has released some of the finest sought-after disco edits in recent times via his Semi-Skimmed series, if you know, you know. Expect a ridiculously good selection of bouncy grooves. Comfortable shoes recommended.
Also gracing the turntables is one of Manchester's finest selectors Yadava. Founder of the legendary So Flute nights and regular NTS Radio host. Yadava has also released on Tru Thoughts label, and recently started the fantastic All Kinds of Joy nights in Manchester. Expect quality dancefloor bangers for your feet and mind!
Making the journey from the far north are three of Scotland's finest house selectors and all-round good lads 'Look Busy Collective'. Mike Edwards, Kev Reid, and Andy Buchan have been laying on some of finest parties in Edinburgh and Aberdeen for years whilst running the Rhythmcast series of guest DJ mixes (an exhaustive list!). Put simply, they love playing house and disco music to lovely people.
Curating the evening is Disc Break station master Mark Disc Break. Mark used to run the original Disc Break nights around Manchester in the early noughties (he's not that old really!). Expect heavy underground shufflers, funky bubblers, and soul-tinged jazzy nibblers.
