Pressure Nacht, das bedeutet, Ninja-Tune-Urgestein The Bug lädt wieder Gast-DJs und MCs ins Gretchen ein um die vielfältigen Ausprägungen der Basskultur nach Berlin zu holen und wir bauen dazu sein massives Soundsystem bei uns auf. Producer-Legenden und gefeierte Newcomer auf der Bühne, ein wilder Clash der Genres, der die Luft zum Wackeln bringt, und Gäste aus ganz Europa, die für dieses Spektakel eingeflogen kommen.
Miss Red macht Dancehall in jamaikanischem Patois und gehört als MC regelmäßig zum Line-Up von The Bug, seit sie während eines seiner Improvisationssets in Jaffa das Mikrofon ergriff. Am nächsten Tag nahmen die beiden in einem spontan gebuchten Studio in Tel Aviv in einer Studiosession den Track „Diss Mi Army“ auf. Spätestens nach ihrem Debütalbum „K.O.“ (2018) ist sie nichts weniger als die Königin des futuristischen Dancehalls.
Andy Stott ist einen schönen und spannenden Weg von Dub-Techno Produktionen zu einer Stilvielfalt gegangen, die unter anderem Hardcore-Techno, Post-Punk und Dream-Pop integriert und Gefühle zwischen Angst und Begeisterung hervorruft.
Coki, die eine Hälfte des Duos Digital Mystikz, ist jemand, der die Musik für sich sprechen lässt. Seit seinen ersten Releases vor 16 Jahren ist er einer der wichtigsten Protagonisten der agilen, wubbeligen Bassline-Ästhetik des Dubstep. Tracks wie Tortured, Haunted und natürlich Spongebob waren Bassline-Blaupausen, die den Grundstein für die epische, von Drops dominierte Dubstep-Welle legten, die bis heute anhält.
Digital hat mit seinem unverwechselbaren Sound einen großen Einfluss auf Stile wie Drum’n‘Bass und Jungle ausgeübt. Er steuerte eindrucksvolle Soundtracks für Goldies Blue Note Sunday Sessions bei und hat als einer der ersten Jungle-Künstler den heute weit verbreiteten Halftime-Stil erforscht. Seine Dub-inspirierten Produktionen sind von großartiger Komplexität und auf den wichtigsten Labels des Genres zu finden.

Ninja Tune legend The Bug is once again inviting guest DJs and MCs to Gretchen to bring the diverse manifestations of bass culture to Berlin, and we're setting up his massive sound system. Producer legends and celebrated newcomers on stage, a wild clash of genres that shakes the air and guests from all over Europe who fly in for this spectacle.
Miss Red has been a regular MC in The Bug's line-up since she grabbed the microphone during one of his improvisation sets in Jaffa. Andy Stott has progressed from making high-quality dub techno to exploring singular and more adventurous strains integrating hardcore techno, post-punk, and dream pop — among other inspirations — that have evoked feelings ranging from dread to exhilaration.
Coki, one half of DMZ, lets the music do the talking. And boy has it talked. Since his earliest wax outings 16 years ago, he’s been one of the key protagonists in dubstep’s aggy, wub-woven bassline aesthetic. Tracks like Tortured, Haunted and, of course, Spongebob were bassline blueprints that set the foundations for the epic drop-dominated wave of dubstep that followed and continues to this day.
Digital has a sound and style that is unmistakable to him—a sound that has had an incredible influence on the genre known as drum’n’bass and jungle. Pick an era in drum and bass and his signature boot stamp is dented deep into it. From creating some of the most seminal soundtracks for Goldie's legendary Blue Note Sunday Sessions, he's one of the first jungle artists to explore the now prevalent halftime style. Digital's unmistakable sonic signature rumbles through the movement with consistency and clarity. You can find his diverse and dub-inspired productions on the genre's most defining labels.
