Omar Ahmad presents his debut solo album 'Inheritance' in full, as an audio-visual evening of reflection and movement in collaboration with ACE at The Sultan Room. 'Inheritance' is an album that follows composer Omar Ahmad's roots from his ancestral Palestine, through South America and culminating in Brooklyn, where he was born and raised. A first generation New Yorker and child of the Palestinian diaspora, Omar will be bringing a unique and affecting live set to The Sultan Room in Bushwick, with the support of Sam O.B. and Serrian, two prolific NY DJs. Highlighting the type of broad influences that can only be found in New York City, he intends to bring disparate edges of his greater musical community together.
Astro Nautico mastermind and producer extraordinaire Sam O.B. mastered the record and will be closing out the night with a DJ set. This soft-spoken New York native is at once a producer, deejay, label boss, tastemaker and champion of the new-New York underground. He effortless handles each role with zen-like serenity—in a lost tradition of American culture, one may have said ‘suave’.
Inspired by the vibrancy of Chicago and Detroit house music, Serrian has now emerged as a DJ in her own right and has opened up for the likes of Baltra, Phil Weeks, and Museum of Love (DFA Records) as the founder of Jamais Vu.
