This August, Acid 学校 is headed back to our favorite secret laboratory in Nishi-Azabu to cook up a fresh evening of psychotropic auditory phenomena with a stacked lineup featuring some of the most dauntless, if not deranged, electronic chemists to twist knobs in Tokyo:

“No PCs, no presets, and no preparation” is the ethos of hardware live performer extraordinaire lenacid. Armed with a monstrous rig of Eurorack modules and analogue synthesizers she’ll be cooking up a full hour of bespoke mind-melting acid beats entirely live for this edition of Acid Gakkou.

Acid Gakko boss Mark Shephard is bringing his signature hardware live set back to Traffic for the first time since March’s packed party with Switch. With a simple setup of drum machines and synthesizers, Mark’s hardware live takes angular twists through hard-edged acid, breaks, and trance.
Golpe Mortal
On duty for peak hours is industrial and mystic techno expert Golpe Mortal, founder of the Tokyo-based label and event series Roiro Electronics, and a resident DJ at two popular party series in Tokyo: Discipline and NAN+NA.
Jiho
Closing out our evening is the founder of Subhills, a combination fashion brand and techno record label. With an ear fine-tuned for texture and quality, Jiho’s DJ sets are expertly-constructed journeys through the finest techno around.
dumplinggal
A former professional ballet dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and the Croatian National Ballet Rijeka, dumplinggal started DJing techno music in Tokyo shortly after her return from Europe. Her style is inspired by sophisticated and structured classical music.
Roller
Roller, aka Noah Taiga is a co-organizer and resident DJ of Acid Gakkou. His style is heavily influenced by his upbringing in Germany with a preference for dark moody grooves and trippy rhythms. Taiga is also regularly guest DJ-ing at parties around Tokyo, particularly in the party hotspot neighborhoods of Sangen-Jaya and Shibuya.
