Yadava Bob Roche (Space Grapes / NL)
Update! Very sadly Ays is no longer going to be able to make it due to illness, we’ve got another special guest lined up who we’re equally excited about… Rotterdam-based Bob Roche is a seasoned record collector bassplayer and DJ, Bob is best known for his work as musician and composer for the band Another Taste and Space Grapes Records whose sell-out releases have made their way into the bags of many discerning DJs over the past few years. Their sound mixes the old and the new, creatively bringing the classic sounds and recording techniques of the 70s / 80s into a modern dance-floor context . You can expect the same for Bob’s DJ set, from spiritual jazz through to high energy dance music and left-field sounds that are guaranteed to make you move. We know he’s going to be a great fit for the party!
100% of profits from the night and cassette sales will be go to a split donation between Medical Aid Palestine, Kids of Colour and KWF Dutch Cancer Society, as nominated by our initial guest DJ, Ays.
Ays has also curated a special mix for us that will be available on a run of very limited (50 copies) pro-dubbed, hand-stamped cassettes to purchase individually or as part of a ticket bundle again. It’s an hour long classy curation of both joyful and deep sounds, spanning underground disco, emotive soul and cosmic-tinged jazz-funk. Conceived in two parts, the mix includes recent finds whilst digging in Paris, Helsinki alongside long time favourites from the talented DJ.
We’ll be running an open decks session earlier in the evening, all levels of experience welcome so if you have some records or digital music you’d love to play in a relaxed environment on an audiophile setup then please get in touch with us at [email protected]. Slots will be prioritised for those who have had less opportunities to play out and identify as from underrepresented groups.

Kids of Colour works across the communities of Greater Manchester and is a project for young people of colour aged 24 and under to explore ‘race’, identity and culture. KWF Dutch Cancer Society is a nation-wide organization for cancer related work in the Netherlands who work on life-changing research and make sure that expensive medicines are available quickly to everyone. We have also set aside a small number of reduced tickets, available on a first-come, first served honesty basis for those on lower incomes or facing other financial challenges. We hope this keeps the party accessible to a wider range of people, especially in light of the current hardships faced by many so please carefully consider if you qualify for these tickets before purchasing. We would suggest that anything around or below an annual full-time salary of £18,000, which approximately equates to the UK Living Wage, could be considered a lower income.
