G-Man (LFO / WARP Records)
G-Man aka Gez Varley first came to prominence as one half of the ground breaking electronic group LFO.
Their first release LFO "LFO" reached number 10 in the UK charts and went on to sell 180.000 copies worldwide. Gez left LFO in 1997 and went on to do G-Man as a solo project.
Over the years Gez Varley has recorded for labels like the infamous Warp Records, Force-Inc Music Works, DJ Hell's Gigolo Records, Swim, !K7, White Noise and +8 and worked with the following producers: Mark Bell, Richie Hawtin, Karl Bartos, Marco Carola and Thomas P Heckmann. Gez has also remixed many people over the years including "Radiohead, YMO, Art of Noise, Afrika Bambaataa, Laurent Garnier, Soft Ballet, Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode), AUX 88.
Over a career of 33 years Gez has sold over 800.000 records world wide, not including remixes and compilations, and has had his music used for 2 computer games and 2 adverts (VW Golf and also the Hummer in the USA).
Ada Kaleh (R&S Records)
Ada Kaleh is a musician and composer based in Bucharest, Romania and currently releasing forward thinking aesthetics on legendary labels R&S Records and its ambient division Apollo Records, widely considered as the labels responsible for bringing Techno to Europe. He’s been releasing music for over 20 years under various aliases, but his current focus is on the Ada Kaleh alias, and the more recent persona, Supersanity.
His music combines hypnotic rhythms with rich, naturally evolving sounds that invite the listener into a parallel world. Appropriately enough his releases are often inspired by literal and metaphorical trips and mystic experiences.
Questioning the linear nature of time, each composition guides the listener though whirling soundscapes, DMT realms and time loops, creating an aural safe space in which to explore. Propelled by a passion for 60’s & 70’s spiritual jazz, afro-beats and other psychedelic inducing textures, Ada Kaleh describes his recent musical endeavours as Quantum Techno.
His impact on the underground Romanian and international scene has been structural, inspiring young producers and showing them a more mature, complex and musical side. In his quest to explore eclectic musical alleyways, his upcoming release on R&S Records features on vocals none other than the inventor of Afro-Beats and one of Africa’s most esteemed musicians, FELA KUTI, and a saxophone performance by Eric Leeds of PRINCE fame.
GAAP
GAAP is a dynamic duo of DJs and Producers from Bucharest, Romania. These two talented artists are passionate about their craft, constantly digging for special sounds that will make their sets unique. Their focus is on dub-house, detroit-techno, and deep-house, with an emphasis on groovy rhythms, deep basslines, lush synths, and dreamy pads.
