Koichi Shimizu
Born 1972, is a musician, sound designer, producer based in Japan.
Active since the late 90s, Shimizu has worked in the field of electronic music and sound
design for film, performance and sound installations.
Shimizu's collaboration with Thai film director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, which
began in 2007, has established him as a renowned sound designer and engineer.
Notably, Shimizu has worked on the sound design for several of Apichatpong's films,
and he has also made valuable contributions to Apichatpong's widely toured theatre
work titled 'Fever Room.' Additionally, he compiled the album 'METAPHORS /
Selected Soundworks from the Cinema of Apichatpong Weerasethakul,' released in
2017.
In addition to his work in sound design, Shimizu has a background as a curator and
producer. He founded and managed the independent record label and music collective
'SO::ON Dry FLOWER' in Thailand for over a decade. During this period, he released
the works of numerous artists, including Desktop Error, and organized various live
showcase events that featured artists from around the world.
After residing in Bangkok for nearly twenty years, Shimizu returned to Japan in 2020.
That same year, he released his solo EP titled 'Imprint.' In 2022, he embarked on a
collaboration with the Singaporean collective known as The Observatory, resulting in
the release of their first joint album, 'Demon State,' on the Midnight Shift label.
C-KAY
She is a resident artist at Space Baghdad, KGRn TOKYO in Tokyo and Constant Value in Seoul, has released tracks on labels such as Constant Value, Modular Mind, Subsist Records,
Mirae Arts, and We Build Machines. She has also performed live and Dj in various cities,
including Seoul, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Paris, Berlin, Budapest, and others.
YONG YING
She is a Hong Kong-based DJ who first got on the decks in 2020 and has since been driven by a relentless passion for digging and playing music. Her sets are known to combine dark experimental sounds, industrial techno, and a vibey dose of EBM. After a year of playing in a wide range of events and parties, she has built her sound and aesthetic while steadily making her mark in Hong Kong’s electronic music scene. She is now a regular at 宀 club and a resident of Entropy 熵.
Nanogram
Nanogram is a seasoned crate digger/DJ blending techno, industrial and experimental electronic music to create a driving and enigmatic performance. Since 2018, Jason has been curating the monthly industrial/techno/ebm/coldwave club night at 宀 Club “Entropy 熵”, bring unforeseen international artists and regional artists such as Phase Fatale Sinus O, Haruka, MXMLXXXX, and C-Kay.
Nanogram is currently the resident DJ of 宀 Club and Entropy 熵 in Hong Kong. Other than his residency at 宀 Club, he was invited to performed at famed venues overseas, such as KGR’n Tokyo, Bonobo, Oil Club Shenzhen. He contributed a podcast mix to C-Kay’s Coma Hole series and Mr Ho’s House of Ho show on Sky Lab Radio, and is currently running Entropy Radio series on Radio Huru hara. Currently, he is working on his production, and researching various sound design techniques on the side.
