  • On November 9th, the Audio/Visual event series, Watershed project, once dormant, awakens from its long slumber, which echoes the status of Tbilisi as the capital of new media art by UNESCO with supporters of the event Tbilisi City Hall. Watershed series' first new episode comprises three captivating live performances: Byetone, Frank Bretschneider, Natalie Beridze, and Special Visuals by László Bordos Byetone, set to take over KHIDI, began his creative journey in East Germany with a serendipitous encounter with 16mm film equipment during his school years. This unexpected find led him to experiment with film as a medium, sparking his involvement with the avant-garde band 'AG Geige initiated in 1988, marking his foray into the realm of music. Together with Frank Bretschneider, he founded the record label ‘’rastermusic’’ in 1996 which later merged with Carsten Nicolai's sub-label ‘’noton’’ to form ‘’raster-noton’’ in 1999. Byetone's unique sound is raw, minimalist, rhythm-centric music, echoing untamed energy, free from excessive processing. Musician, composer, and Berlin-based video artist Frank Bretschneider will take a place on the stage. Bretschneider’s work is known for its precise sound placement, complex, interwoven rhythm structures, and minimal, flowing approach. Bretschneider’s subtle and detailed music is echoed by his visuals: perfect translated realizations of the qualities found in music within visual phenomena. Known as the first female electronic music artist from Georgia to perform worldwide, composer and songwriter Natalie Beridze will perform her live set. In 2002, she got a record deal in Germany and lived in Cologne until 2008, where she produced music under the stage name TBA. Natalie Beridze works on compositions for acoustic instruments, orchestra, and choir, teaching the new generation in CES. This night will be covered with special visuals by Hungarian artist László Bordos. With his abstract 3D animations, form-breaking projections, and 3D mapping work, he is recognized as one of the pioneers of the genre. László participated in numerous exhibitions and art festivals and Since 2015, he has been focusing on creating scenery projections for theater and opera, being involved in creating visuals for symphonic concerts and operas This project will endure and persist, standing the test of time. With the framework of this project in the past, KHIDI welcomed Murcof and Abul Mogard
