  • Suzanne Ciani is not only responsible for some of the greatest synthesizer music ever produced, but she often did it first, shaping and developing techniques that have been pored over for decades. This makes her an electronic music pioneer who has released over 20 solo albums including Seven Waves, and The Velocity of Love, along with a landmark quad LP LIVE Quadraphonic, which restarted her Buchla modular performances. Suzanne carved out a niche as one of the most creatively successful female composers in the world. A Life in Waves, a documentary about Ciani’s life and work, debuted at SXSW in 2017 and is available to watch on all digital platforms. The five-time Grammy award-nominated composer was inducted into the first class of Keyboard Magazineʼs Hall of Fame alongside other synth luminaries, including Bob Moog, Don Buchla and Dave Smith and received the Moog Innovation Award. Most recently, she is the recipient of the Independent Icon Award from A2IM, The Golden Ear Award, and the SEAMUS Award. Marta De Pascalis’sonic world acts as an uncanny translator that freezes and expands emotions, conveying them into unique soundscapes. Her solo works employ analog, fm synthesis, and a tape-loop system, whereby she carves waveforms to shape cathartic sound bodies. Her latest record, Sonus Ruinae, was released by experimental Berlin label Morphine Records in 2020. Sky Flesh, her forthcoming album is due to be released on Caterina Barbieri’s light-years imprint on November 3rd. in cooperation with CTM Festival
