"Church of Dance" is a community-focused 'ecstatic dance' movement therapy session for people of all walks of life to come together and celebrate our bodies through freedom of expression. Ecstatic dance is often a somatic healing journey and cathartic release of stagnant energy and a powerful method to contain and cultivate energy within yourself. Assisted and guided by the intentional music and sounds of the resident DJ of the night. 'Church of Dance' is medicine for the soul.
Our mandate is simple:
-to provide a spacious dance floor
-to bring good vibes
-to provide great music
-to be accessible in the West end
Featured DJ of the night:
Christian Zero
Son of a Disco Queen & Audiophile King, Christian Zero’s work and play with music began with 'dance-running' around the living room with fresh disco vinyl and dance-hits. Piano lessons and recitals followed. It wasn’t until later ,Aphex Twin’s “Come to daddy”, that electronic music entered the picture. This excitement led to discovering satellite-radio DJ sets by Paul Oakenfold, Daft Punk’s 'Homework', and Christian’s first rave experience. Christian started DJing a range of scenarios - from playing dark-progressive at 'bunker raves’ in Milton, to fancy restaurants in Toronto like 'Monsoon', where his forward thinking selection of deep-sexy-house earned him his first residency, including gigs at Diesel Fitness, and later Groove Fitness in LA. After being invited to participate in 'The Move', a weekly ecstatic dance, Christian’s journey with music came full circle.
Ecstatic dance emphasized a journey of the body, more than narrative aesthetics, but Christian aims to integrate both. “I prefer to call it 'intuitive dance', as I think a reverence for intuition can take the body and soul where it needs to go.
If ecstasy is where you go, great! Whatever the words we might use to try to describe these experiences, intuition is certainly a quality Christian hopes his work and play with music empowers.
When Christian Zero isn’t DJing, he’s Co-Founder at Symbio - An embodied commUnity, dedicated to cultivating intuition and supporting personal evolution. In his more specific role as Creative Director, Christian combines decades of experience as a VJ with his experience as a DJ to facilitate immersive multi-sensory experiences.
When? Last Tuesday night of the month
6:45pm-9:15pm
-Doors open @ 6:45pm. Music warm up from 7-730pm. Opening circle at 730pm-
-Doors officially close at 8pm. Closing circle at 9pm-
We encourage everyone to show up on time before 7 to get the full experience!

How Much? $19 plus tax fees (Advance Entry Only), $25 @ the door
We accept exact cash only at the door.
Mindful Information:
-Doors lock and last minute ticket sales close at 8pm.
-Ecstatic dance is a dry space. (If you toke before that's your perogative, just please ask not to be overtly intoxicated and we do not sell liquor)
-Please bring water.
-No shoes on the dancefloor (or indoor shoes only for people with foot issues etc)
-Ecstatic dance is like a *silent* meditation or a dance library
-Please keep all talking in the space until when the music is over at the end.
-Please ask for consent to dance with or engage with others.
-No cellphones on the dancefloor or used in the space.
-No photos, video or social media.
-Please keep the space scent free for people with allergies.
-This is a judgement free zone to embrace and celebrate one another.
-2SLGBTQIA+ positive space and inclusionary of all races, genders, sexualities, and bodies are welcome, included and celebrated.
-Tickets may sell out in advance.
-If tickets are not sold out you can purchase online until 8pm night of the event.
-Tickets are transferable but non-refundable.
-We accept exact cash only, sorry!
-Please keep bags off of the floor on the designated tables so people do not trip.
