25 Years Anniversary
Modular Expansion was founded by George Apergis and has run successfully, since 1998 and is a cultural body of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
Modular Expansion is one of the first teams which started organizing Techno events in Athens. In the end of the 90s began to host artists from the labels such as Tresor, Basic Channel and Chain Reaction, presenting the Berlin underground music vibe and making techno popular in the Greek capital. Founder of Modular Expansion known as George Apergis performs already in 2002 at the legendary Tresor in Berlin. Counting in his history more than 1000 events and hundreds of guest artists like Adam Beyer, The Advent, Alexander Kowalski, Truncate, Ø [Phase], Schwefelgelb, Yanamaste, Parallx, Philipp Strobel, Psyk, dj Rolando, Monoloc, Drumcell, Brian Sanhaji, Radial, Substance, Vainqueur, Johannes Volk, Funk D Void, Dave Tarrida, Sender Berlin, Kevin De Vries, Subjected and many more belongs in one of the oldest teams in the city of Athens.
In 2012, the label of Modular Expansion Records was established, with releases and the support of world renowned artists, thus forming the baseline for following up events abroad, and especially in Berlin, with gigs in clubs like Berghain, Tresor, Sisyphos, Suicide, Renate and also in club in London, Rome, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Warsaw and Moscow.
Modular Expansion is celebrating 25 years anniversary and on December 15, at Temple, Athens, it will present a special techno night. The line-up will include some of the favorite artists of Athens techno fans from Berlin Alexander Kowalski, Axel Karakasis and EMEX aka George Apergis, owner of Modular Expansion in an exclusive vinyl-only dj set. The night will include also Expansion residents Talantösis and Tria X.
