- For a quarter of a century, MELT Festival has been a magnetic force, drawing the world's hottest artists and bands along with thousands of passionate music enthusiasts to the City of Iron nestled between Berlin and Leipzig. Here, against the backdrop of dormant coal excavators, by the shores of a serene lake, and within lush forests, they unite to celebrate the rich tapestry of music and culture, immersing themselves from Thursday to Sunday. Amid the juxtaposition of quiet and loud, mainstream and subculture, zeitgeist and future, they dance in harmony, escaping the monotony of everyday life. Over 150 meticulously curated artists and bands provide the perfect soundtrack. In a musical landscape unrivaled in Europe, attendees uncover their newfound favorites and witness the future unfolding in the present. 2023 featured live performances by Bicep, Brutalismus 3000, Shygirl and southstar, or DJ-Sets by Daphni, Ki/Ki, Solomun, and many others who define the contemporary music scene. Whether it's the groundbreaking sounds of Fred Again.. and Little Simz, the sonic explorations of Jamie xx, the electrifying energy of Moderat, the lyrical prowess of Stormzy, or the soulful melodies of Jorja Smith, they all and many more have contributed their unique essence to this remarkable place.
