Homegrown Harvest was founded about 9 years ago and we started by doing small 100% local artists events in DIY spaces that we transformed into rave dens to welcome dancers from all communities. In recent years, we were “victims” of our success and had to move to bigger more established rooms. While those are really fun to work with and often give more possibilities, we always missed the gritty, “raw” DIY rave space feel.
Well, we’re happy to announce this event as it will allow us to go back to our roots with a fresh venue; one we have never used before and that embodies the pure rave energy we are always looking for:)
For the occasion, we have prepared a special programme that reflects this vibe with none other than the midwest techno legend 𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁! Formally known as DJ Shiva, she’s been a staple of the underground since the 90s and we couldn’t think of anyone better for this return to the source moment of ours. On top of this brilliant techno pioneer, we’ve added multi generational local heroes and community facilitators 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲, and 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲.
To enhance this deep roster, we’ve decided to go with another of Montreal’s community pillars for sound: 𝗣𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼. Built from scratch and run by Sako; a fixture of Montreal’s DIY scene:). We’ve also decided to bring back the one and only 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 as our lighting wizard for the night!
Note that this venue is way smaller than our usual spots and 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝.
This will also be our second to last event of 2023 so join us as we close out the season on an extra ravey high note!
