YALLAH TAZZIK:
'Yallah Tazzik' is an Istanbul /Basel based band embracing all the beauties of being a power trio. With their upbeat sound they combine and perform a mix of free jazz, rock and anatolian psychedelic rock to their audiences. Yallah tazzik is created by Korhan Futaci ( alto sax & vox), Baris Erturk ( baritone sax) and Mehmet Ali Şimayli (drums)
Korhan Futacı is an Istanbul-based saxophonist, composer, producer,
singer and songwriter. A renowned name in Turkey’s alternative music scene, Futacı, is currently focused on his solo project and his free-jazz band ‘’Konstrukt’’, which he cofounded in 2008. He has collaborated with numerous internationally acknowledged musicians such as: Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker, Thurston Moore, Sun Ra Arkestra’s chef Marshal Allen, Eric Truffaz, Ken Vandemark, Joe Mcphee, Akira Sakata, William Parker, Otomo Yoshihide, Alan Wilkinson, Okay Temiz and Alexander Hawkins.
Mehmet Ali Simayli is a musician from Istanbul, Turkey who works in the fields of drums, percussion, composition and improvisation in different mediums. His material shapes mainly around jazz, free improvisation and contemporary composition. Extended sonorities, sound art, standart forms, noise, unsteady pulses, humor and traditional music are some of the tools he is interested in. Simayli’s music was described as the music of noir and combustibility by the critics. He is currently based in Basel, CH and continues his works in Basel and Istanbul by having musical and non-musical sources of inspiration around.
Barış Ertürk started music by playing guitar during his high school years; continued with saxophone. He graduated from Bilgi University Music Department in 2007, where he worked with names such as Butch Morris, Donovan Mixon, Selen Gülün, Can Kozlu, Kamil Özler. During his University years, he took part in many festivals and artistic events at home and abroad with the RF Orchestra founded by Ricky Ford and his own band Teneffüs. MEHMET ASLAN (Live)
Mehmet Aslan live show presents itself on stage as a trio, foregrounding the performances of drummer Alican Tezer and guitarist Daniel Pankau, both of whom also contribute additional sampler & keys instrumentation throughout the set.
With Aslan in the rear-centre of the stage driving the performance from the conductor position, the close dynamic with these collaborators is intended to bring a truly live energy that can be lacking from many live electronic performances.
The additional instrumentation brings new dimensions to the mesmeric, multi-facted instrumentals, with the intention of heightening the music’s physical connection with the audience in harmony.
