Gaston Volpe ist ein argentinischer DJ, dessen Musik maßgeblich von dem 90er-Jahre-Sound der Achse Detroit-Berlin beeinflusst ist. Auf seinem gerade gestarteten Label Transcent ist mit der The Soul Is Healed eine superbe EP erschienen, die sich mit ihren in Hall getränkten Tracks, den einnehmenden Akkorden und synkopierter Percussion nicht vor den großen Dubtechno-Tracks dieser Ära verstecken muss. Sämtliche Tracks wurden von ihm in Live-Jams in einem Take aufgenommen, beste Voraussetzungen also für seinen Live Gig im Berghain zur heutigen Klubnacht. Mit dem in Berlin lebenden Lars Huismann und den Amsterdamer Rosati spielen außerdem zwei Acts mit aktuellen Releases auf Steffis Label Dolly. Rosati bezeichnet seinen Stil als „hand-crafted music“, ihm ist es wichtig, immer eine menschliche Note in seiner Musik zu spüren, sei es bei Techno oder House. Mit dem New Yorker Kenny Dope kommt eine der wichtigsten House-DJs und Produzenten, der nicht nur den US-Dance-Sound der 90er Jahre geprägt hat wie kaum ein anderer. Der Sohn puerto-ricanischer Einwanderer hat solo oder zusammen mit Little Louie Vega unter dem Namen Masters At Work unzählige erfolgreiche House-Remixes veröffentlicht, wurde vier mal für den Grammy nominiert und ist ein begnadeter DJ und lebende Beats-Enzyklopädie - supa dope in der Panorama Bar.
Gaston Volpe is an Argentinian DJ/producer whose music is heavily influenced by the 90s sound of the Detroit-Berlin axis. His recently launched label Transcent has released The Soul Is Healed EP, a superb EP which that doesn’t shy away from the great dub techno tracks of that era, with its massive reverb, engaging chords and syncopated percussion. He created all its tracks in one take by jamming, a good indicator for his live gig at Berghain for this weekend’s edition of Klubnacht. Berlin-based Lars Huismann and Amsterdam-based Rosati, two acts with current releases on Steffi's label Dolly, will also be playing. Rosati describes his style as ”hand-crafted“, always offering a human touch in his work, be it techno or house. Kenny Dope from New York is one of the most important house DJ/producers, with many accomplishments including sharing the US dance sound of the 90s. The son of Puerto Rican immigrants, he has released countless successful house remixes, whether solo or together with Little Louie Vega as Masters At Work, has been nominated for a Grammy four times, and is a gifted DJ and living encyclopaedia of beats – supa dope at Panorama Bar.
