The French-born artist (real name Aurélien Rivière) has been steadily carving himself a reputation since the ’90s, experimenting with a wide spectrum of genres, ranging from down-tempo to trip hop, breakbeat, jazz, and ambient. By incorporating his own field recordings into his productions, he is able to create the ethereal and melodic sounds for which is becoming more widely acknowledged. It is his live set, however, that’s been the driving force behind his growing profile over recent years, allowing him to emanate the same mood and feeling as his DJ sets and original compositions. “I consider myself more of a musician at heart,” he explains.
With a tireless work ethic and a focus on creation rather than infamy, Aurelien Riviere may be one of the best-kept secrets of the European house and techno scene. His rise as DoubtingThomas has been a slow and steady one, with releases on key underground labels and prestigious residencies confirming what those in the know already understand; that this is an artist worth paying attention to.
Mexican DJ and producer Paulina Rodriguez aka Paurro naturally fell into the embrace of acid house, UK garage, breakbeat, bass and techno music after doing her internship in Spain and England. Paurro found another home in the dance community which gave her a platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and to elevate other artists’ works, with a big focus on those from her own home country.
An iconic essence of house, Paulina draws a fine house line between her organic and energetic sounds, providing happy and unforgettable sets that mark the soul. Ranging from deep and minimal to uplifting and melodic sounds, often grazing 90s house and disco, her true aim is to curate a feeling of true freedom through song and dance.
