Detachments (live)
Everyone's saying Detachments are the most interesting new band of
the moment. They're signed to thisisnotanexit, their new single
'Holiday Romance' has been remixed by WU's own Andy Blake and a
previous single tinkered with by Andrew Weatherall. We've warmed to
Detachments because they're influenced and inspired by the same
brand of cold industrial pop music as us. We're going to avoid the
lazy music press trap of saying 'this band sound like a cross between
Joy Division, Depeche Mode and The Cure'. But what we will say is that
they do sound like an early Factory Records band, and this will be a
very rare chance to see a Factory-esque band in the right environment.
For those that have been to World Unknown already, you know what we
mean by that.

The venue is in Brixton and it’s brilliant, an old railway arch, far away from the tyranny. It’s easy to get to by tube (Brixton 10 mins walk), overground (Loughborough Junct 30 seconds) and bus. Infact, a nightbus (N35) stops right outside.
