" Church of Dance" is a community-focused 'ecstatic dance' movement therapy session for people of all walks of life to come together and celebrate our bodies through freedom of expression. Ecstatic dance is often a somatic healing journey and cathartic release of stagnant energy and a powerful method to contain and cultivate energy within yourself. Assisted and guided by the intentional music and sounds of the resident DJ of the night. 'Church of Dance' is medicine for the soul.
Our mandate is simple:

-to be accessible in the West end

ASTROBOY
Astroboy is a Toronto-based DJ whose primary directive is to take you on a sonic journey and make you shake what your momma gave ya. Prepare to move and be moved by a diverse selection of sounds from around the world, from funked up disco grooves to deep tribal rhythms, bhangra to bachata, dancehall to drum and bass. Music should be fun, so let’s play. You can catch Astroboy blasting off on underground dancefloors across the city, including a monthly residency at the highly addictive Ecstatic Dance Toronto.
When? Last Tuesday night of the month
6:45pm-9:15pm
-Doors open @ 6:45pm. Music warm up from 7-730pm. O pening circle at 730pm-
-Doors officially close at 8pm. Closing circle at 9pm-
We encourage everyone to show up on time before 7 to get the full experience!

How Much? $ 19 plus tax fees (Advance Entry Only), $25 @ the door
We accept exact cash only at the door.
Mindful Information:
-Doors lock and last minute ticket sales close at 8pm.
-Please keep bags off of the floor on the designated tables so people do not trip.
-Ecstatic dance is a dry space. (If you toke before that's your perogative, just please ask not to be overtly intoxicated and we do not sell liquor)
-Please bring water.
-No shoes on the dancefloor (or indoor shoes only for people with foot issues etc)
-Ecstatic dance is like a *silent* meditation or a dance library
-Please keep all talking in the space until when the music is over at the end.
-Please ask for consent to dance with or engage with others.
-No cellphones on the dancefloor or used in the space.
-No photos, video or social media.
-Please keep the space scent free for people with allergies.
-This is a judgement free zone to embrace and celebrate one another.
-2SLGBTQIA+ positive space and inclusionary of all races, genders, sexualities, and bodies are welcome, included and celebrated.
-Tickets may sell out in advance.
-If tickets are not sold out you can purchase online until 8pm night of the event.
-Tickets are transferable but non-refundable.
