First in a string of acutely aware selectors, with an expansive knowledge of club music comes Hicham. Playing PW on Jan. 12th alongside established Trails and Varme affiliate, Paul Popa, and emerging selectors/collectors Ivan & Jokey!
Hicham was born in 1991 near Paris, but spent most of his life in Northern France, somewhere close to Belgium. When he turned 20, he discovered and felt in love instantly with the electronic music and its rave culture through Fuse Club in Brussels.
Hicham is considered as one of the best representatives of a new generation of record diggers. His purpose as a selector is to play across styles and to tell stories using the music he found. His aesthetic is mostly influenced by the 90s and 80s analogue sounds while his music is eclectic, psychedelic and brightly colored.
His work as a DJ is also a tribute to long-forgotten producers, musicians and singers that left us with beautiful timeless masterpieces to discover and appreciate.
