For our next party at Zur Klappe we’re delighted to be joined by the inimitable Al Wootton.
Wootton has been releasing music under a variety of aliases for the last 15 years. Since making the switch from Deadboy to Al Wootton in 2019, his sound has only continued to evolve and refine: in this time he has been one of the most prolific and consistent producers around, putting out a slew of releases primarily through his own label, Trule, as well as on esteemed labels such as Livity Sound, Optimo Music and ZamZam Sounds.
His productions are instantly recognisable by their intricate, slinky drum programming; eerie synths, and powerful bass weight.
Behind the decks, Wootton blends percussive assaults, weird, wiggy rollers; and stripped back, sub heavy selections that give a big nod and a wink to soundsystem culture!
A three hour set in the depths of Zur Klappe is probably too good to miss!
We’ve also invited Blossom Hill along for the fun. As label manager of all my thoughts, as well as the founder of local collective, Green Room, he’s no stranger on how to start a party. He’ll be opening the night alongside Trip the Light resident, Lyndon Lewis. Fellow resident, Akiï, will be up to her usual tricks on closing duties!
The ethos of Trip the Light is based on creating a night with no frills, that is completely music-centric, focused on diversity, inclusivity and intimacy. Our music interests are broad and ever evolving but are rooted in UK soundsystem music.
