Dweller is an electronic music festival that occurs annually during the last week of February as a celebratory culmination to Black History Month. For the first time, Merge is partnering with the inimitable and ever-so important series through a collaborative curation and platforming of black artists that play the tunes we already adore.
Much of electronic music, especially our techno sweet spot, originates in black hands, through black culture, and by black pioneers. Through this collaboration, we hope to honor the history of the genre and those in Detroit that paved the way.
From Dweller: "We strive to be a black lighthouse; a siren in the storm for those who know the isolating whitewaters of electronic all too well. At this time, the authorities controlling this current seek to drown the voices and new structures that can reverse the flow of power back into our hands. We must be vigilant towards persisting as to not just speak for ourselves but redistribute resource, equity, and justice in a space that has long made its worth on the backs of the silenced."

Merge is a Brooklyn-based, queer party that aims to cultivate sonic liminoid experiences through techno music. We will work together to incubate the collective queer body, and experience its transformation under the influence of techno. We seek release, mutual understanding, deeper access to the personal, interconnected, and ethereal. We honor the sound through dance, self expression, and hyper-immersion.
