The Berlin-based Sonar Kollektiv invites you to its 25th anniversary in the venerable Kasheme and celebrates its label anniversary with a boutique dj set by Daniel W. Best and Markus Tone.
As a music activist and DJ, XJAZZ Festival, Berlin co-founder and booker Daniel W. Best has more than three decades of experience behind the decks. The sound with which he brings his audiences worldwide into ecstasy constantly changes between jazz, soul, reggae, rare groove, disco and house - sometimes all in one set. He has released several compilations incl. Polish Jazz (JCR) , Best Seven Selections 1,2,3 (Sonar Kollektiv), GIDisco compiled together with Kalle Kuts (BBE) and released electronic music under the Winnie & Somow moniker. He also runs the weekly XJazz radioshow on Flux FM, Berlin.
Markus Tone is a highly respected DJ and an important part of the soulful dance music scene in Berlin. He is also one of the co-founders of the legendary Beatkollektiv / Wedding Soul events; host of the Jazzanova DJ shows (Jazzanova & Friends) in Berlin; part of the Sonar Kollektiv family and regular radio host of the Good News Radio Show on Radio D59B, to name but a few projects he's involved in. He often plays with leaders and legends of this music scene, not only because he is an outstanding DJ with exceptional music taste, but also because he's developed his own unconventional and innovative style, with DJ sets spanning Soul, Funk, Disco, Jazz and House.
