After the tremendous success of our first vinyl session of 2024, we're thrilled to announce our second event, this time teaming up with Common Project to bring you another 'Wax All Night.' Let's sink into subterranean realms and welcome our two headliners, legends of the game; Jay Tripwire & ESB. As usual EV and Lalo will be on support duties to accompany the night.
Jay has been DJing professionally for three decades and has played some of the most iconic underground clubs in more than 200 cities worldwide. Most notably he had an 18 year run playing at Londons Fabric, and is currently celebrating a decade at Flash DC. He has contributed to every major podcast in the scene, and has well over 300 interviews, reviews and articles in the world of music. As a working DJ, Tripwire can range from the freshest of the fresh to the most obscure vintage bomb, and his extended sets are renowned for reflecting his vast knowledge and ability. In the studio Jay recently collaborated with Cristi Cons, Cosmjn, Radu Mirica, Melodie, Tripmastaz, Steve O’Sullivan, Silat Beksi, Miller, Traumer, Miroloja, VID, Dragomir and Maher Daniel. Whether as Jay Tripwire, Mr_Barcode or other aliases over the past 3 decades, none have contributed to the soundscape of underground music more with 68 number 1’s from 426 vinyl releases.
ESB is a mainstay of the Vancouver underground music scene, getting his start in the 90s attending raves, buying house records from the local shops and making basic house and techno on a QY70, Roland MKS and a Yamaha sampler. Nowadays he's still using old school methodologies to craft raw, minimal and atmospheric music out of his studio in East Van.
With a solid catalog of vinyl only releases going back a decade on various local and international labels you would most easily fine his latest series 'Constructed Grooves' which showcases his production style. As a DJ, this musical second nature comes through with a desire to weave the many flavours of deep music into a cohesive experience for the dance floor.
